POLL: Would You Like To See Andrew Garfield Return As SPIDER-MAN?

POLL: Would You Like To See Andrew Garfield Return As SPIDER-MAN? POLL: Would You Like To See Andrew Garfield Return As SPIDER-MAN?

"Sony Hack" emails and a number of other recent reports have indicated that Andrew Garfield's time as Spider-Man has prematurely come to an end. Do you think he should get another chance - potentially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - or is it time to recast?

Poor Andrew Garfield. He rose to prominence in a decent (but disappointing) Spider-Man reboot with 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man and went on to star in the sequel which I think we can all agree is best left forgotten. Despite not working under the greatest of conditions (studio interference aplenty for example), many fans still agreed that he was a great Spidey, even if his Peter Parker was somewhat unlikeable when compared to his comic book counterpart!

With recent reports and emails indicating that neither Sony or their possible partners Marvel want Garfield back as Spider-Man, it appears as if his time as the Marvel superhero has come to an end. It's a shame as you have to imagine that his hipster douche take on Spider-Man could have actually been something truly amazing in the right hands...right? We'll let you decide with the poll below! Should he return as Spidey or would Sony (or Marvel!) be better off findining a new actor?

If the MCU are going for the teen SM than new actor. I only want Garfield as the adult, mature SM.

I think Garfield is a good actor, he's just not Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Sony has messed up Spidey so badly with the blood thing, the parents, the stories, ect, ect, could go on and on

Seeing him in the MCU would just be confusing

SAdly, if Marvel gets back the rights, bye bye Andrew, I just want an amazing story in the next spider-man film, with a character so rich in background that shouldn't be hard to achieve now should it. Just don't give me the same movie for the 6th time please, make it fresh, heroic, cut down on the romance big time, basically, please just do it like the Spectacular Spider-Man Cartoons did, a [frick]ing cartoon is my best pic compared to all the movies ever put out, come on now, give me a live action spidey in the footsteps of TSSM!!

Yes. I loved him as Peter Parker and he loved the character so much that he basically told Sony to their faces that theyre doing the character a disservice.

If not get Dylan O'Brien

I like him. However its not him that was the problem its the material that you werent sold on. I was overall okay with it. Ultimately he captured ilthe essence of the character to me

I loved Garfield. He was actually a 21st century nerd. Nowadays, being just super smart doesn't make you a nerd. It takes an attitude as well, like "some day I'll be your boss", which he had

They say Marvel Studios is in talks with Logan Lerman already. That means Marvel is pretty damn sure they are getting Spidey early next year.

Expect a sweet ass after credit of him after Civil War

Nope.

Amazing Spiderman 2 = modern day Batman and Robin. Both were made for the same purpose (to sell toys). We need a fresh take on Spidey, and that means a new actor.

I do feel bad for Garfield, maybe he can get another comic book role.

Marvel can't fail. With Spider-Man in the fold to spearhead Phase 4... Its just insane how powerful they will become. They can print their own damn money.

Nothing against Andrew personally, but no. If he had better material he could've been great.

Poor guy.

His departure will forever be a reminder of the incompetence of Sony, getting rid of possibly the only actor in the Marc Webb who actually cared about the fans to an extent - as shown by him speaking against the film and his panel appearance.

If you think FOX will be able or even willing to hold onto FF after it flops. You must have lost your mind. They will drop it back to Marvel and focus solely on X-Men

@FordEl

I wasn't sold on Garfield as Parker from the start, I thought Garfield was good in Social Netwrok, and Imaginarium of doctor parnassus, his take on Parker was just so off to me and the accent was so fake, he wasn't right for it

My choice for Spidey is Logan Lerman, he was awesome in "Fury" he's definitely got the chops and would fit in the MCU perfectly as Spidey/Parker, imo

Garfield is fine as Spider-Man but I don't want the next Spidey flick to have any ties to the Amazing Spider-Man films.

That being said, if Marvel decided to use Garfield, I'd be totally fine with that.

He sounded like a New Yorker to me. Meh. Either way Garfield is screwed and theres no hope either way. I feel bad for him. I hope DC snatches him up for something.

Didn't mind him as Spider-Man,I believe the problems with The Amazing Spider-man Movies are the director, the producer & the writers.

It's a real shame. Garfield is a fine actor, if the material was better and more accurate, he'd be the perfect Spider-Man. Because that character has already been involved in those gaddamn awful "Amazing" films it'd be impossible to suddenly change him so for that reason it's best to see him go.
