WARNING: SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home follow from this point on!
Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective versions of Peter Parker, and fans have since made it very clear that they want to see more of them both.
#MakeTASM3 has trended on social media multiple times in recent weeks, but a new campaign now looks set to follow: #Make RaimiSpiderMan4. 2007's Spider-Man 3 was a disappointment, but a Spider-Man 4 (with Sam Raimi back at the helm) was set to be released in 2011. The Vulture would have been the lead villain, with Black Cat also factoring into the story somehow.
It didn't happen for a multitude of reasons, leading to a reboot arriving in 2012 in the form of The Amazing Spider-Man. That series received a similarly abrupt ending after the sequel underperformed, with plans for a third and fourth movie, along with a Sinister Six spinoff, scrapped.
These hashtag campaigns are clearly inspired by the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement, which obviously paid off in a big way for Zack Snyder's Justice League. However, it's hard to say whether these fans actually recall that plans for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 were abysmal, with Spider-Man 4 not sounding much better (Felicia Hardy was supposedly set to suit up as "Vulturess").
We're optimistic about seeing more of Maguire and Garfield as their respective Spider-Men, but the odds of that happening in Spider-Man 4 and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 are hard to predict.
