Hans Zimmer To Score MAN OF STEEL

Hans Zimmer To Score MAN OF STEEL

After working with Christopher Nolan on Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and this July's The Dark Knight Rises, Hans Zimmer looks set to score Man of Steel for Zack Snyder and Warner Bros.

Showblitz reports that Hans Zimmer has been hired by Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder to score next June's Man of Steel. He was recently nominated for an Academy Award after working on Inception, and will be known to comic book fans for also teaming with director Christopher Nolan (who is producing the highly anticipated Superman reboot) on his Batman trilogy. There had been rumours to this effect in the past, although many assumed that Snyder would re-team with composer Tyler Bates who he worked with on Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen and Sucker Punch. Do you think Zimmer is the right man for the job or should Snyder have stuck with Bates? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

@JackyTimish Skrillex, really? for a Superman movie? Hans Zimmer will be great and Man of Steel really does keep on getting better
REDSTORM - 6/18/2012, 4:28 PM
Lmao the Skrillex fad will be long dead by the time MoS comes out.
DukeAcureds - 6/18/2012, 4:29 PM
Isn't it strange how Tyler Bates is not scoring this, even thoughhe has scored all of Snyder's other films. And Zimmer just happens to be Nolan's composer?
Kind of hands on, isn't he?
NerdyGeek - 6/18/2012, 4:30 PM
JackyTimish: You earned it son!

Composers and things like that sort of go over my head but I'm hearing good things so I guess it's good news
NerdyGeek - 6/18/2012, 4:34 PM

Skrillex? LMFAO ROTFL GTFO with that bullshit!!!

On topic, great news!!
DukeAcureds - 6/18/2012, 4:36 PM
Besides, Dubstep was ultimately shite, anyway. Sure, it's immediacy is badass, but it wears of after two riffs and then it doesn't go anywhere.
"music of this generation which is better than the past"
The music of this generation is the worst it's been, since before the 20th century, like most cultures of lack of of this generation. Sorry. 'Nother pet hate.
Besides it's the last generation, now. The generation of the nougties. Welcome to the new.

OH MY GOSH>........when i saw this headline the air was literallly sucked out of me!!!!

HOpe he does a Great Supes Score!!!
supermarioworldE - 6/18/2012, 4:38 PM
Not too thrilled about this. Zimmer is a good composer, but few of his works have ever really been that enthralling or memorable to me.

Still, lets see how he does.
writerguy1976 - 6/18/2012, 4:38 PM
Very cool but I do hope at some point they do use the music from the original Superman. That score is a classic.
AnditsOn1 - 6/18/2012, 4:39 PM
Good! It will be nice! I like watchmen and 300's music but the tone of it is not that right for superman. This, this is right!
DukeAcureds - 6/18/2012, 4:42 PM
writerguy'76@ They HAVE to reprise, even for the briefest of homages, Williams' theme. They... they just gotta.
DukeAcureds - 6/18/2012, 4:43 PM
And did you guys hear about Skrillex being in the Crow reboot as Eric Draven?!!!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!!!
What the [frick] happened to this world?
Steping - 6/18/2012, 4:44 PM
Supersonicboobs - 6/18/2012, 4:44 PM
but yes the question arises can he do uplifting music to represent Kal el to Superman!!!
SeaborneLegend - 6/18/2012, 4:45 PM
This just keeps getting better and better :)
jessepostal - 6/18/2012, 4:46 PM
People actually like dubstep??? And skrillex?? What the hell is going on in this world
Dev - 6/18/2012, 4:47 PM
Zimmer also worked on the forgettable Green Lanturd score. I'm just sayin.
FanboyTrump - 6/18/2012, 4:49 PM
Nolan cant work without Zimmer can't he..
SupermanP33v3 - 6/18/2012, 4:49 PM
Sweet! this would be awsome, I have been a fan of Zimmer for a long time (The Batman Trilogy I feel is some of his lesser work.) I could so see something like this for Superman! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFpZPZ_g4Hw&feature=related

Dynamo - 6/18/2012, 4:52 PM
No that was James Newton Howard.

Dynamo - 6/18/2012, 4:52 PM
I hope he does something similar to his Gladiator score for Man of Steel.
DukeAcureds - 6/18/2012, 4:53 PM
Dev7@ No, you're thinking of James Newton Howard who partnered with Zimmer for the Batman scores. He's a lot worse than Zimmer. Although he did reprise the John Williams Superman theme in the Green Lantern, if I remember correctly.
DukeAcureds - 6/18/2012, 4:55 PM
Just1Superguy@ Hasn't beaten him yet, guy.
Mrcool210 - 6/18/2012, 4:56 PM
OF COURSE, warner bros is too unoriginal to get anyone else
MrsTonyStark0507 - 6/18/2012, 4:57 PM
I agree with using the original Superman theme. It's like Harry Potter. They got the original score from the master, John Williams (of Superman fame, as if you didn't know, LOL!) , and then other composers took the next few movies and just used Hedwig's Theme as an underscore. I think that could be really cool and a really nice nod to John Williams and Christopher Reeve.

Whoever said Hans Zimmer isn't memorable - are you f-ing kidding me?!?!? Um, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman, the Lion King, Sherlock Holmes, Kung Fu Panda - all Hans Zimmer and the moment I hear them, I know exactly what movie they are from and who composed it! It is getting to the point where I can recognize his style from a mile away. He is getting very close to hitting John Williams fame.

TheIrishAvenger - that is actually the second time today that I have seen that special snowflake get the Billy Madison treatment.
