	honestly, if you read the script, Nick Cage makes perfect sense as Superman. And I am by no means the biggest supporter of Burton, but I am a fan of Stan Winston, and you should see how different the concept art for Edward Scissorhands was from what Stan made...the weird drawings weren't accurate descriptions of what he wanted, they were more like charactures. 	To anyone who hasnt heard this already. Supeman Returns was actually supposed to be allot more like an amalgam between the movie and the game. Lex teamed up with Metallo. He used the crystals for the Kryptonian Military tech too. The Kryptonite island was to give an infinite energy source to Metallo and keep superman away. 	eljayson, that seems rather harsh and ignorant. I never did get the whole gay stigma about SUPERMAN RETURNS. Sure, Singer was on THE ADVOCATE with the headline, "How Gay Is SUPERMAN?" but it was a comparison of Clark hiding behind the glasses (as if in the closet) to what gay men go through. Singer may be gay, but he is a decent director and personally, I tought RETURNS was good, just too slow. 	There's a few things wrong with everyone's perspective on this vision. Other than nic cage as supes the producer behind the film was pushing a huge spider villain to fight (check out the interviews with Kevin Smith) so i'm sure it was a concept that worked in Braniac in some sort of cyborg spider form. The common concept pic of superman seen is also hinted at being a bizarro concept. So thus far instead of a bastad child, lex luthor, and kryptonie in Bri-man's version we have gasps actual super villains to fight supes! 	Burton must have dropped some pretty good acid when he drew that. Whatever he was on, I'd like to know only so I stay away from that stuff. God, what would his Metropolis have looked like? 	I honestly dont see why WB is lagging on such a Dept & their main excuse is they "wanna go dark" or "dont have a story"?!? Yet, they own the properties to DC who last yr released probably one of the greatest Superman Story Arcs w/ the Villain everybody & their Grandma are asking to put in the new Film/Reboot: "ANYBODY READ SUPERMAN/BRANIAC by GEOFF JOHNS w/ ART BY GARY FRANK?!?" No Lex, all Brainiac, all Alien, & they introduced characters familiar w/c Superman Canon Take out Supergirl & right there you have a reboot that not only doesnt start like an origin, but just picks up to what we all know(kinda like Ed norton's Hulk)plus they can even use Gary Frank's AMAZING art as storyboard/costume/set design reference!! WB needs to stop trying to come up w/ something new for Christ's Sakes...Look what Nolan did for Batman. Did anybody not see the nods/ideas they took from Year One, The Man who Falls & The Long Halloween?!? All they did was took little samples from THE COMICS & developed a story out of it!!
