The much anticipated Man of Steel sequel, said to be titled Superman VS. Batman or Batman VS. Superman is set to begin filming early next year. Unlike Man of Steel, the 2015 "explosive" follow-up will not be filming in Vancouver, Canada, but in Toronto, supposedly for "better tax credits." Vanity Buzz has stated that this news comes from a very reliable source "who works deep within the North American film industry."

During the filming of Man of Steel in Vancouver, fans were able to get great first looks and sneak peeks of Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Michael Shannon as Zod. Also, in this location, great scenes such as the oil rig rescue and the outside shots of Clark in the Alaskan town were shot.

With a budget of $225-Million, Man of Steel brought in an estimated $100-Million in local economic spinoffs to the province of Vancouver with a sequel likely to bring in the same amount - if not more.

Of course, there will be many other locations for the sequel to be filmed. Will they return to Plano, Illinois, or will they find a new town to call Smallville? Official news on the production of this film remain to be seen.

Man of Steel passed the half-billion dollar mark worldwide on Saturday, June 29. The film has a domestic total of $286,058,272 and an international total of $350,100,000 making the total gross at $636,158,272. With its release date set in August for Japan, the film will easily reach its $700-Million goal set by the studio.

Come to Seattle!!
Emjeed - 7/27/2013, 6:00 PM
Great find @JULEZ
JULEZ13 - 7/27/2013, 6:01 PM
@ShoulderCreeps - Yeah, I agree. I want to see a more futuristic Metropolis. Since half the city is destroyed, it would make sense to get a different type of city.
JULEZ13 - 7/27/2013, 6:01 PM
@Emjeed - Thanks, man!
UltimateWarrior - 7/27/2013, 6:11 PM
I doubt this will be called "vs." anything, that seemed like a not to well thought out comment by whoever said it. If their smart they'll call Superman/Batman: World's Finest.
JULEZ13 - 7/27/2013, 6:16 PM
@OldGreg - I completely agree with you, I've said from day one that having versus in the title just sounds ridiculously bad. Unfortunately, it was Goyer himself who said that is what the film will be called. It's the name WB was going to give the first planned World's Finest film back in 2002 that would've starred Bale and Routh, respectively. Really uncreative to use that scrapped name if you ask me.
JULEZ13 - 7/27/2013, 6:17 PM
@ShoulderCreeps - I agree. Metropolis should be pseudo-futuristic while Gotham is supposed to be dark, gothic and modern. Hopefully they will differentiate the two cities in WF.
Transforminator - 7/27/2013, 6:25 PM
How do you know 700 mil is the studio target?
NovaCorpsFan - 7/27/2013, 6:25 PM
I have low expectations for this right now. Thats a good thing, 'cause now when I see it I'll think its awesome.
Brainiac13 - 7/27/2013, 6:29 PM
@JULEZ13

Nice find!

JULEZ13 - 7/27/2013, 6:35 PM
@Transforminator - It was said before the film was released that the studio was targeting a $700MM gross.

@Brainiac3000 - Thanks!

I figured the DC/WB news has been becoming very non-existent on this site so I took it upon myself to post the article cuz I knew no one else would, unfortunately.
HavocPrime - 7/27/2013, 6:44 PM
Cool to hear, in the sequel they should really play on the destruction caused, as it is crying out for Lex to use against him.
crashrendar - 7/27/2013, 6:47 PM
nnnnoooooooooooooobody gives a crap. here in 'merika canada's canada.
Canon108 - 7/27/2013, 7:56 PM
Title should be 'World's Finest' and MoS was filmed in Chicago for the metropolis scenes...
BANE5000 - 7/27/2013, 8:00 PM
Im still hoping the logo is still just a concept and they tweak it up a bit during production...the fat Bat symbol reminds me to much of The Brave and The Bold cartoon for some reason :]
LP4 - 7/27/2013, 8:21 PM
Great article and find Julez!
JULEZ13 - 7/27/2013, 8:30 PM
@BANE5000 -They're definitely redesigning the bat-logo. Someone at SDCC even confirmed that they threw it together just to have it ready for the Con. They probably just chose that bat logo to fit with the quote they used.

@Pasto & @LP4 - Thanks!

Oh and I like your new avi @LP4!
SnapperCarr - 7/27/2013, 8:54 PM

Bodwulf - 7/28/2013, 7:36 AM
Fans cry out for over a decade for this

The Brothers Warner give us this

BIGDane42 - 7/28/2013, 8:04 AM
@Bodwulf

STFU and stop crying! I'm glad they are taking there time, and building a franchise, and not rushing it. There will be a JLA film, and it's more likely to be better because they're spacing it out. Also that manip cast is shit.

But yeah, Toronto always seemed to remind me of what Metropolis would be like when I lived in Buffalo.
BIGDane42 - 7/28/2013, 8:05 AM
Exactly MartianAbominationClone!
Greengo - 7/28/2013, 8:08 AM
Lol bodwulf.

I dont think anyone cried for THAT!!!
Greengo - 7/28/2013, 8:09 AM
Well now that's just another reason to visit Toronto.

I want some Canadass.
BatsFan - 7/28/2013, 8:25 AM
They should put Superman name first in the title cause it's MOS sequel.
Shaggy - 7/28/2013, 8:26 AM
big mistake, Toronto is hell on earth
Shaggy - 7/28/2013, 8:27 AM
this movie is doomed, already doomed
Bodwulf - 7/28/2013, 8:48 AM
I wanted a Justice League film guys. I am complaining that Warner seems to make only Superman or Batman movies. Now in a stroke of genius they say "Lets just make a Superman AND Batman film."
As for taking their time. I fear most of us will not live long enough to see a Justice League film at this rate.
@Greengo You would not wanna see that? :)
BIGDane42 - 7/28/2013, 8:58 AM
.... Toronto is hell on earth?? Huh, never that claim before. I mean they're not filming in Detroit. Maybe you should lay off the splenda!

Also Bodwulf, we want JLA, but we don't want it rushed, and getting those two in one movie will get people pumped. It has the potential to make more money than Avengers or TDKR. I agree that this needs to be the last stepping stone when it comes to clinging solely on Supes and Bats, but the next two years we'll get Flash, and most likely Wonder Woman(at least in big budget TV show), and then BOOOM, JLA!!
Bodwulf - 7/28/2013, 9:02 AM
@BigDane42 hope you are right.
jp688 - 7/28/2013, 9:09 AM
I think Snyder way overstated the Batman component of MOS 2, which will obviously introduce Bruce Wayne/Batman and might weave him into the story line (a"buddy" film?", but won't be a focal point. Snyder has set up some people for disappointment and others for relief.
jumpingtheshark - 7/28/2013, 9:34 AM
@jp688 I think if that was the case Batman's logo wouldn't be part of the the logo.
thaonly1guly - 7/28/2013, 10:05 AM
Can't wait!!! This movie is going to be epic. Anyone that thinks it won't be just re-watch Watchmen and you'll get the idea.
jaycr - 7/28/2013, 10:30 AM
After the ending of MOS Detroit looks like the perfect location for the sequel.
KalElOdinson - 7/28/2013, 10:51 AM
@Bodwolf......Of all the Batmans you could have used why in the free world would you put Clooney nipple Batman in that picture???
