Superman Sequel Officially Delayed; Thus, Not Dead!

The other day we reported that Superman had at least some backing from Warner Bros., today we hear that it’s got just a little bit more.
It was just Sunday when DaiQuan reported that “WB execs Alan Horn and Jeff Robinov agreed to proceed with Singer at the helm of a $170 million "Man of Steel".” Today, we find out that in a move that at least half-guarantees a future for the film, WB has pushed back the release date to 2010 from 2009.

The reason, is obvious; the writers’ strike, according to Variety. The movie doesn’t have any screenwriters, after the pair who wrote Superman Returns - Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris- opted out of following up the series. The movie, tentatively called Superman: Man of Steel, then suffered the writers’ strike, just as writers were about to pitch ideas.

I haven’t watched the first one, and I didn’t hear anything that is going to make me watch it. But it sits here, at home, waiting for the day that someone provides me with a decent reason to watch it. I open it up to you, our readers, to let me know if I should!
