THE FLASH: According To CW President, Barry's Flashpoint Arc Will Only Last "A Couple Of Episodes"

It's been somewhat expected that the Flashpoint storyline wouldn't last the entirety of the season, and we've received an interesting tidbit from The CW president Mark Pedowitz regarding the length of the arc.

At the Television Critics Association press tour, The CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed to the audience the length of Barry's journey into the alternate Flashpoint timeline, teasing that "The Flashpoint exercise is only for a couple episodes before it comes back in" (presumably back into the original timeline). He doesn't say much more, likely saving it for the show's panel later today.

With the show set to co-host an epic four-part crossover event with its DC TV sister shows - Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow - sometime before the winter hiatus, it wasn't a stretch to assume the Flashpoint arc would be completed before the event took place and/or be resolved during the crossover itself. Not much is currently known about how The Flash plans on tackling Flashpoint, but a couple things we do know are that Wally West will be taking on the Kid Flash mantle, the Reverse Flash will return, and the Mirror Master is set to make his debut.

So, what do you guys think? Were you expecting more time in the Flashpoint Paradox? Sound off with your thoughts below!

But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.
