Rob Liefeld Reveals New Details Concerning MARVEL's Shut-Out of FOX

With rumors of Fantastic Four comics being cancelled to hurt the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, Marvel seems to be doing something similar with X-Men in an effort to hurt FOX's revenue from the films.

It seems as though rumors concerning the FOX shut-out courtesy of Marvel are true for the X-Men as well, though in a different field. The X-Men comics are some of the highest selling Marvel series being published so their cancellation is out of the question, but if Rob Liefeld is to be believed, they could be doing something else to hurt the X-Men films.

Here is what Liefled had to say on the subject:

There you have it folks! While some may question why Rob Liefeld has any right to say anything, it should be noted he's been involved with the previously announced X-Force film, him knowing some of the inner workings of the studio may not be totally out of the question.

wow 2 versions of the same article, and they are both awful
ekrolo2 - 6/1/2014, 12:53 PM

Yeah its pretty bad, I rushed this one out and [frick]ed up posting it seeing as its been a while since I made an article on here.
ruadh - 6/1/2014, 12:53 PM
Mrcool, haw!

Meanwhile... Is liefeld a reliable source? Hasn't he made stuff up before just to appear in the know?
Ramiel - 6/1/2014, 12:54 PM
Has the X-Men movies ever had toys tie-in? I can't seem to recall.
OcciferPing - 6/1/2014, 12:54 PM
First of all, where is your source? Second of all, this sounds like bs. Marvel wouldn't do something this stupid. X-Men AND The Fantastic 4 are high selling comic books. If Marvel were to do that, they would lose A LOT of money. Plus Marvel is still represented somewhat in Fox's movies (hence the MARVEL logo).
ekrolo2 - 6/1/2014, 12:55 PM

Well he's apparently working with them on the X-Force film so I'd say he probably knows some inside stuff were aren't privy to.
Ramiel - 6/1/2014, 12:56 PM

FF was a high selling comic. GOTG sells more comics that FF nowadays.

Please edit this.
Maestro - 6/1/2014, 1:02 PM
This requires multiple revisions.
thewonderer - 6/1/2014, 1:06 PM
This is so [frick]ing childish.

kevberg - 6/1/2014, 1:07 PM
If true --probably pissed he wont get any royalties on potential Deadpool toys.
Maestro - 6/1/2014, 1:07 PM
I hate to say it, but its a business. Why would marvel make DOFP toys? Promoting something they will get nothing out of. Toy sales don't even come close to box office sales, so FOX would no doubt be taking the most benefit if marvel made their toys.

It says they're not making DOFP toys, but they will no doubt continue to make marvel comics xmen toys. That makes sense
Maestro - 6/1/2014, 1:08 PM

Indy - 6/1/2014, 1:09 PM
Yeah they did

Is this really happing? because it sounds so stupid if it is.
ekrolo2 - 6/1/2014, 1:10 PM
Man I REALLY screwed this article up. Sorry guys. Won't happen again (hopefully).
Bekss - 6/1/2014, 1:10 PM
Spiderman will never be in Avengers. You have to be stupid to think it will after Arad comments.
DaVinci31 - 6/1/2014, 1:11 PM
Speaking of X-Force.

I hope X-Force, in some way, reboots the character of Wolverine.

With Thomas Jane as the character.

ekrolo2 - 6/1/2014, 1:11 PM

That was before ASM2 failed to even reach the numbers of the first one after being in theaters for well over a month, and nearly towards the end of its theatrical run.
MightOfMagneto - 6/1/2014, 1:12 PM
Hahaha... Marvel Studio is so butthurt...
Indy - 6/1/2014, 1:13 PM
If this true why aren't they doing this to Sony and spider-man?
Blanka1212 - 6/1/2014, 1:14 PM
There is a Marvel Select DOTFP Mystique figure coming out, and they just recently released "The Wolverine" Logan.

This article is bullshit.
MightOfMagneto - 6/1/2014, 1:15 PM

[frick]ing with their talents

[frick]ing with other studio and sabotaging their own properties.
Maestro - 6/1/2014, 1:15 PM
Lol Fox getting that 3rd stepchild treatment.

Ramiel - 6/1/2014, 1:15 PM
Well, well

DaVinci31 - 6/1/2014, 1:15 PM

YeezusWept - 6/1/2014, 1:15 PM
Makes sense. Why did you think only the MCU properties in Lego Marvel Superheroes had movie costumes whereas X-Men & Spider-Man had their comic versions.
MecoBoy - 6/1/2014, 1:16 PM
Spider-man en los Avengers 3 seria un espectáculo, más que cuando México gano el campeonato durante los olímpicos
Reasonnnn - 6/1/2014, 1:17 PM
[frick] Robert Liefield.
Bekss - 6/1/2014, 1:18 PM

Because their movie costumes are bad
Indy - 6/1/2014, 1:18 PM
$24.99 for a action figure?
Blanka1212 - 6/1/2014, 1:19 PM
Thank you, Ramiel. I don't know how to post pictures, but I tried. This is a bullshit article. Rob Liefeld is hardly a trustworthy source.
DeusExSponge - 6/1/2014, 1:20 PM
So is this true or not?
ekrolo2 - 6/1/2014, 1:20 PM

I have failed you all! To restore my honor I must perform the act of senpuku! See ya on the other side!

*Stabs self in the gut*.
YeezusWept - 6/1/2014, 1:21 PM

ruadh - 6/1/2014, 1:22 PM
Try seppuku instead.
charlie2094 - 6/1/2014, 1:23 PM

Apparently those were never released under the movie brand, just part of a Marvel Comics toy line...

So this is Marvel somehow attempting to sabotage Fox? Interesting, business I guess :P Regardless, this back and forth will hopefully result in both sides trying to outdo the other, so I guess we win? :P

Do believe Spidey could join the MCU and always have, Sony/Marvel are much closer and given TASM2's performance and Sony's recent state, they have a lot to gain from it.
DaVinci31 - 6/1/2014, 1:24 PM

jimoakley666 - 6/1/2014, 1:28 PM
Liefeld... wouldn't believe shit this bloke has to say.

If Marvel ARE doing this they they're as thick as pig shit. Seriously. I'm losing faith in the company lately. Their [frick]ing revolving door policy on deaths, over reliance on poorly thought out 'events'... Shape up or fuk off, Marvel. You're failing.
