THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Post Credits Scene Is A Clip From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Wait, what? So this is certainly a surprise! Opening today in the UK and other markets, the post credits scene for Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been confirmed as being a clip from Fox's X-Men Days of Future Past?!

This is surprising.

With the recent Marvel films, post-credit scenes have become pretty much expected and after 2012's Amazing Spider-Man also featured it's own post-credit scene, it should come as no surprise to find out the same has been planned for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

But, recently confirmed by Sony, a clip from the upcoming Days of Future Past, will instead be shown after the credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The scenes shown, will feature Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Toad (Evan Jonigkeit) and Havok (Lucas Till) taking on William Stryker (Josh Helman).

What's the reason for this happening? Unknown at the moment, but could this be the beginning of some form of collaboration between the usually competing Sony and Fox? This has not been the first attempt to link Marvel franchises together (some will remember Oscorp Tower almost appearing in The Avengers) but is this yet another (unlikely but possible) attempt to create a cohesive Marvel Universe? Or is it purely a strange - and frankly confusing for audiences at least - marketing move?

Seriously?
RextheKing - 4/16/2014, 10:31 AM
I'd rather the post credit scene was a clip from GOTG, if you catch my drift.
ElBicho - 4/16/2014, 10:31 AM
Interesting bit of news. However, your speculation is off base.

From the source article, "Now this isn't a post-credits sting as we've seen before in the Marvel universe, setting up some sort of crossover between the two worlds.".

They're not connected.

@ElBicho

That was purely speculation on my part, being two studios working together. Empire mentioned it also, just thought it was interesting to think about

That rumor about oscorp tower being in avengers wasn't true nobody ever confirmed it not even Kevin feige and if you go back to the original article it cleary says RUMOR in the headlines last time I checked rumors always turn out to be false
JoeMomma29 - 4/16/2014, 10:38 AM
Ummmmm no way.......I want proof!
JoeMomma29 - 4/16/2014, 10:39 AM
I would be hilarious if Sony and FOX are trying to team up to take on Marvel Studios............ but I highly doubt it.
sKeemAn - 4/16/2014, 10:40 AM
This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship (Bugs bunny voice).
youknowmyname - 4/16/2014, 10:40 AM
Saw it this afternoon in the UK, it's true. Major letdown.
MrMartinMarvel - 4/16/2014, 10:40 AM
Holy shit, Sony and FOX are teaming up to take down Marvel! IT'S A CONSPIRACY!

ProfessorX - 4/16/2014, 10:41 AM
....what?
BruceLeroy - 4/16/2014, 10:41 AM
Hilarious if true.
ProfessorX - 4/16/2014, 10:42 AM
So wait, this is confirmed? What in the actual [frick]?
SageMode - 4/16/2014, 10:42 AM
It's funny how Marvel has the other studios chasing their tails, trying to one up on them. It's hilariously pathetic.
Jollem - 4/16/2014, 10:42 AM
that'd be great if sony and fox were to collaborate
charlie2094 - 4/16/2014, 10:42 AM
Haven't written an article before...assume since it's still here (for the moment) it's ok :P

Definitely doesn't confirm any sort of collaboration, but definitely not something that happens all the time

Could this be Sony/Fox teaming up against Marvel? :P
soforizo - 4/16/2014, 10:43 AM
Wait, what???

soforizo - 4/16/2014, 10:43 AM
Bring it! Spider-man and the X-Men at some point down the line! ;)
JoJo1982 - 4/16/2014, 10:44 AM
@mrmartinmarvel

Lmao

It's a conspiracy!!!
Duskbyday - 4/16/2014, 10:44 AM
Having seen it today I can say that it did happen. It doesn't connect the franchises or anything, just a poorly edited and rushed scene from DOFP. Bit of a let down after credits and the scene has actually slightly lowered my expectations for the upcoming x-flick
BenderBendingRodriguez - 4/16/2014, 10:45 AM
So they copy and pasted a scene of DOFP into TASM , but there no connection between the movies and no crossover. Lol how gimmicky.

Empire is a legit source, and there are people who saw the movie today saying it's true...

cipher - 4/16/2014, 10:45 AM
charlie- Don't worry about it, man. Article looks okay to me.
charlie2094 - 4/16/2014, 10:46 AM
@DuskByday

I heard that, someone I know said it looked "cheap", poorly lit etc...hopefully not reminiscent of the final film
AndrewWebs25 - 4/16/2014, 10:46 AM
Guys, here is a more clear article, They arent team up like a lot have said... is just marketing

Destined - 4/16/2014, 10:47 AM
Wow...ok Sony and Fox. We see you lol.
ATrueHero1987 - 4/16/2014, 10:48 AM
Funny, elsewhere they said the post credit scene reveals who the shadowy figure was in the first movie. WHO is it? I don't know because I didn't read that far...don't want to spoil any surprises.lol
charlie2094 - 4/16/2014, 10:48 AM
@cipher

Thanks, appreciate it :)
TheFirstAvenger97 - 4/16/2014, 10:48 AM
What the heck!?!
Jollem - 4/16/2014, 10:48 AM
@soforizo - and fantastic four and others
Insomnia - 4/16/2014, 10:49 AM
Well, since it is well known that Sony has moneyproblem, i would not be so suprised if they at the end will team up with either Fox or Marvel Studios. And after all, Sonys moneyproblem can be a reason for that postcredit scene (Fox paying them for having it) and nothing more
DrunkenNukem - 4/16/2014, 10:50 AM
somebody believes this???
charlie2094 - 4/16/2014, 10:51 AM
@AndrewWebs

Cheers, just seen that now...just going by Empire. Seriously going to confuse audiences though, hard enough before, now X:Men appearing at the end of Spidey but still not connected? :P
soforizo - 4/16/2014, 10:52 AM
@Jollem

Ummm yeah, but it depends how F4 goes. I like both Spidey and the X-Men more, but I'm in for a fantastic four team up with Spidey.

All fan speculation at this point.
DrunkenNukem - 4/16/2014, 10:53 AM
If it is true, then is one hell of a bold move, X-men + spiderman = money, money, money, money, money, money.
