Potter hands down. No contest.
ShadowFalls702 - 7/8/2011, 9:21 AM
I dont see Captain beating HP at all.
broncosfantx - 7/8/2011, 9:29 AM
what sucks is that HP will open and 1 week later Cap and will open and it will probably be 2nd or 3rd on IMDB by sunday night, they should have waited until August to release Cap, because he would have ruled for several weeks !!!!!!
dmm5 - 7/8/2011, 9:47 AM
Well naaah shiiit! Harry Potter is the biggest franchise and is the last one! Another problem is the summer schedule. So many damn movies one after another, HP should've been moved to December. Now that's the real gold! I'm still rooting for Cap though... USA, USA, USA!!!
THORION76 - 7/8/2011, 10:21 AM
HP will destroy Cap in box office but that does'nt make it any better, just more popular. Pirate's was'nt really good but it killed in the B/O.Transformer's was a crap movie but the effect's were bad ass so the B/O number's are insane. What we all need to do is spread the word about Cap and help make it the biggest hit possible. harry potter is a little british inbred dork (no offense to our brit freind's out there) and CAPTAIN AMERICA IS HUMAN PERFECTION.
vxMaverickxv - 7/8/2011, 10:24 AM
Yknow I have never had a problem with the Harry Potter series until I read this article. Just displays how stupid people are. There is always a chance and nothing is guaranteed, just look at Green Lantern.
Also, Harry Potter isn't CBM and the only reason this article appeared here is because it referenced Captain America. It's a totally shameless attempt to place Harry Potter in the limelight of a comic book movie website using Cap to do so.
Sorry to come off negative but I don't feel like this article belongs here.
Btw...regardless of how well Harry Potter does...look how well Marvel is doing...Thor, FC and Captain America combined revenue would crush Potter who's literally on his last leg.
If this is a reflection on Potter fans in general then I'll be happy to see the series end, albeit it does look good.
naterator - 7/8/2011, 10:24 AM
@evilolive....i was thinking the exact same thing. what were they thinking? ...i guess they didnt wanna have it come off TOO patriotic nation wide.
zemus - 7/8/2011, 10:29 AM
I love Cap, I think it will be a better movie that I will like more. But HP8 will CRUSH in money
sheebz - 7/8/2011, 11:02 AM
this site needs to have a sister site dedicated to fantasy novels based movies, HP, LOTR, GOT.... too many whiners cuz it's not a CBM,
sonofsamadams - 7/8/2011, 11:27 AM
@sheebz

They should because there are many posts for Harry Potter and the Hobbit Lately. and NO ONE COMPLAINS ABOUT THE HOBBIT NOT BEING A CBM. -that right there shows that all 220 votes for Captain America are whining die hard Marvel fans that cant see the facts staring them straight in the eye.
jjmeylar - 7/8/2011, 11:42 AM
Naturally HP will. I agree with Justsomeawesomeguy.
comiccow6 - 7/8/2011, 11:43 AM
HARRY WILL DOMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!
SkaarJones - 7/8/2011, 1:01 PM
I love Cap, but logic and history show that HP will win, especially since this is the last one and early reviews are saying it's incredible.
AC1 - 7/8/2011, 1:12 PM
In america I think it's fair game, it seems that the US are nuts for HP and would obviously check out Cap. It'll be close in the States, extremely close.

Outside of the US, Harry will dominate, especially in the UK (because it's British) and I assume in countries that havent had the best of relationships with the US
Shadowelfz - 7/8/2011, 1:35 PM
Hate to say it but Potter will probably win. Cap will do great, but come on, these movies sell like hot cakes.

I feel worse for Cowboys & Aliens... Coming after ALL of these crazy blockbusters! Not only money-wise but quality-wise. HP currently stands at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is said to be host to what is being called, 'the most epic fight scene in cinematic history' (over-exaggeration from the British tabloids there...) and Cap is sure to be a brilliant film judging by what we've got so far, and of course all the extra hype that comes with it being the final film before The Avengers...

Poor ol' Cowboys & Aliens is hanging in by a thread with these two giants as competition, and the ambiguous trailers we keep getting aren't looking to be helping that prospect.

I predict this top 5 order when it's all said and done:

#1: Harry Potter

#2: Hangover 2

#3: TF3

#4: POTC 4

#5: Cap (hopefully it can beat Fast 5)
blvdnoise - 7/8/2011, 2:25 PM
Harry will take that.. simply with the fan base that is givin.
phenomenon - 7/8/2011, 2:34 PM

CantThinkOfUsername - 7/8/2011, 3:13 PM
I am more excited for Captain America, but Harry Potter movies make a lot of cash.
daveB - 7/8/2011, 4:04 PM
Who is Harry Potter?
sonofsamadams - 7/8/2011, 6:08 PM
This polls title should be changed to which movie will be more memorable.
Jennn - 7/8/2011, 8:29 PM
LOL this is a ridiculous poll. Harry Potter is going to kick Caps ass. And I cant WAIT to see Cap. Harry Potter and Pirates are going to rule the summer.

If Cap does as well as Thor it will have made a good showing.
CBMfan001 - 7/9/2011, 3:28 AM
im looking forward to see captain America,n will someday in theater, but harry potter is going to be the biggest and the most memorable.

it's gonna be HUGE harry potter and the deathly hallows :)
BlueScarab - 7/9/2011, 4:31 AM
Harry Potter ofc that movie is going too be epic
Linubidix - 7/9/2011, 5:48 AM
seriously? 595 people need to get their head out of their ass. There's no way Captain America will even touch the success Harry Potter attains.

Moonwalker1991 - 7/9/2011, 9:13 AM

1stMungk - 7/9/2011, 9:59 AM

I'm hopeing that it's going to be Cap but i know it will be Harry Potter. i think theres just a little more people on board with Harry. I love Cap but in reality Potter is much bigger.
Devilhunter318 - 7/9/2011, 6:37 PM
potter's the eighth movie in a franchise with millions of fans, i'll be disappointed if it doesn't break 100 million opening weekend
