When Does MADAME WEB Arrive On Netflix? Sony's Latest Marvel Movie Gets A Streaming Premiere Date When Does MADAME WEB Arrive On Netflix? Sony's Latest Marvel Movie Gets A Streaming Premiere Date

Brace yourselves because Netflix has finally revealed when Madame Web is coming to the streaming service, meaning you can finally experience a Marvel movie which...well, might be one of the worst ever.

Madame Web arrived in theaters earlier this year and is seemingly destined to go down as one of the worst superhero movies ever made.

With 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, it earned only $100.3 million at the worldwide box office, making it a critical and commercial flop Sony won't easily recover from. Of course, it's too late now to change its 2024 slate as Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter are fast approaching.

Box office numbers like the ones above confirm the vast majority of fans and regular moviegoers didn't bother seeing Madame Web on the big screen, but you'll soon be able to watch it at home... provided you have a Netflix subscription.

When does Madame Web premiere on Netflix?

The streaming service has confirmed today that the Marvel movie will hit the streaming platform on May 14; that's right, you have only two weeks to wait until you can experience Madame Web for the first time or all over again (for some reason).

Spider-Woman actress Sydney Sweeney has commented on the movie's failings saying, "To me that film was a building block, it’s what allowed me to build a relationship with Sony. Without doing Madame Web I wouldn’t have a relationship with the decision-makers over there."

"Everything in my career I do not just for that story, but strategic business decisions," she added. "Because I did that, I was able to sell Anyone But You. I was able to get Barbarella."

Madame Web was largely standalone so Sony can easily forget the movie without it tying into its wider Spider-Verse plans. We'd bet that none of the cast is eager to return, though rumour has it Sweeney is heading to the MCU as Spider-Man 4's Black Cat.

Meanwhile, in another universe...In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines.

The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.

The movie stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.

Madame Web is now available on Digital, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Loved that line in Deadpool 2 when he called out that song from stealing the music from Yentil...and no one said a thing.

What an odd movie this was.

It was bad not just in writing but everything down to the camera work and cinematography sucked. It really is a trainwreck of cinema.

I remember when this came out someone on here was saying this movie had a rich storyline with worldbuilding that would pave the way for multiple sequels.

I hope that he’s well. wherever he is…

@Batmangina - Actually got a good Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire the other day and Dune Part 2. Haven't watched that one yet as it seems like a slog and not even interested in the story as Sting isn't in it. You know, for all my downloading, yet to even watch Avatar 2! Not even the slightest piss I can give about that movie. Only liked the first as I went on a date with a girl that 'needed' to see a 3D film. I reminded her that life is 3D, which went over her head...there was no second date. She was dumb.

Same with Morbius and The Marvels. Both are literally a button push away and yet I'm rewatching 'Veep'. PLEASE MARVEL DO NOT [frick] UP HAVING JULIA LOIUS-DREYFUSS LIKE YOU HAVE WITH OLIVIA COLMAN!!! lol
Batmangina
Batmangina - 5/2/2024, 8:25 AM
@Sabre81 - Dude! We are cut from the same cloth - I got about 9 minutes of Morbius under my belt and 13 of the Marvels - never even checked the screenshots of Avatar 2 lol

How SHITTY does a movie have to be to not be able to stomach it for FREE?

Dune 2 is like Japanese Wrestling or an NBA game - 87% filler and then that last 13% might be worth your time.
Sabre81
Sabre81 - 5/2/2024, 9:14 AM
@Batmangina - 9 + 13 minutes? Damn, I wouldn't even waste that amount of time that I have left on Earth. I don't want to be in my deathbed and think back and say "Ugggh, Dear Lord, can I get those 22 minutes back???" Then , of course, the Almighty would say "NO, you watched those horrible movies, even for those minutes, instead of living a wonderous life! You shall be punished in Hell and watch them in entirety FOREVER!!"

Coincidently, as I type this, my Netflix is on standby and is flashing up Morbius as 'Something I might like to watch'. Sometimes I feel generated A.I. logarithms just don't get me...

Anyway, thanks for the heads up, might just load up Dune 2 for the last 30 minutes then. Or will that piss off the Almighty too...eh, I'll risk it perhaps.

Can someone tell Josh ( he blocked me!) that his obsession with calling this movie a flop without being biased to MCU is Journalism? Seriously. Haven't seen this movie or The Marvels, but Madame Web was a loss at $100m to Sony whereas The Marvels was a loss at $250m to Disney/Marvel. Uggh, It's near impossible here. I actually saw a comment yesterday from a shared computer, as The Visionary has apparently blocked me too (new account from Doctor1225 I hear? Soft as shit cry baby), where they try to say that The Marvels and Ant-Man 3 made profit. What?? Same saying the success of the D+ shows...again what??? They have lost 12 million subscribers from this time last year so at lease try justify how spending 100s of millions on shows that no-one barely watches on their platform and don't bring in more subscribers is a success.

I love commenting with @DrReedRichards and others that can actually converse on this kind of stuff without delving into pre-determined hate (Well, apart from his hate of Snyder it seems, but we all have enemies like mine for Rob Zombie) and have a normal discussion...but Josh just brings out the worst in me, and mostly all of us with his immature tacky pieces.

Time to get rid of him. "Make CBM.com Great gain"! Heheh, bet that fires up a few Americans..

@Sabre81 -

Are you seriously looking for unbiased and objective takes in a Josh article, my man?

For as much pride as I take in my smarts, I've never fumbled harder than failing to see what a disaster Quantumania turned out to be. That movie wasn't just a flop, it was a bomb; especially when you take into consideration how massive its budget was.

But yeah, no, don't expect honest takes from everyone in here. Some do, like Rohan and both Marks (Julian and Ror), but not all. Shit, I remember an old editor Matt Belissimo. That guy's takes were seriously well thought out and put together.

Shame he and MrSunday chose to leave, but I can't really blame them.

@Sabre81 - Man, with reasonable, well thought-out comments like that, I can't imagine why anyone would block you.

Anyway, a quick google and I found three articles where Josh called The Marvels a flop, and four for Madame Web. I'm no fan of Wilding's (he has be blocked on here, too) but that's not exactly what I'd call a massive bias.

@Sabre81 - bro, you’ve got to let go of that. Josh is going to Josh and ain’t nothing in this world gonna change that. Better things to worry about than his rampant toxicity and his lack of actual journalism. Energy vampires feed off of the chaos they cause. Ignoring him ensured the terrorists don’t win.

@clintthahamster - Well, thank you good Sir! Wilding is a heel-licker and a slag!

If you want a bit of cream to the pudding then check out on Youtube him having an interview with the director of Madame Web and simply guffawing his miserable wormlike state into speech all the way through (as it's MCU) and then returning to his Rat's nest to constantly create so many articles slagging the project off.

I've pissed on lesser creatures that is Josh Wilding...sometimes not even standing up.

I think there could be a Podcast in there somewhere. If I knew anything about Podcasts. Heard they are popular and fun.

Also, don't blush! Take compliments like a man, grimace, then smash a wall and say "You...you...you glorious Bastard!!! No one has ever touched my heart like you. COME HERE!!"

@Sabre81 -

Great choice! Glenn Powel and Ryan Gosling were my two picks for Johnny, had they chosen to make the team older and more experienced, like say if they had cast someone like Jon Hamm as Reed.
Sabre81
Sabre81 - 5/1/2024, 2:44 PM
@DrReedRichards - See...that's what I don't want for the new F4. No BIG power star names like Gosling or Hamm that Marvel might waste like Olivia Colman (Seriously WTF where are they going with that?). I first saw Glenn in a show by Ryan Murphy called 'Scream Queens':-

And then saw him in Maverick. Suck A Johnny Storm from late 80's comics (when I had them) vibe I felt.

Sabre81
Sabre81 - 5/1/2024, 11:01 PM
@Origame - Yep, did a little research and Madame Web only lost Sony $100m where The Marvels lost Disney/Marvel $250m. Not to mention (I had a post earlier in e thread about this) D+ lost 12 million subscribers from this time last year and yet they have to justify billions spent on shows like She-Hulk ($225 million alone) and alike (Star Wars stuff as well). Josh keeps saying X-Men 97 is a great success, it's a nice show, but is it bringing in money i.e. Subscribers?? Nope.
