THE DARK KNIGHT Star Christian Bale Reportedly In Talks To Join Marvel's THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER

Well, here's a shocker to start your New Year. It's being reported that former Dark Knight Christian Bale is currently in talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios & Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder!

Collider ace Jeff Sneider is reporting that Academy Award-winner Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari) is currently in talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder in an undisclosed role.

It's still very early in the casting process, but if his deal closes, this would be a very unexpected - but welcome - return to the world of comic book movies for Bale, after he famously starred in Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy as the titular hero of Gotham.

Thor: Love and Thunder is headlined by Chris Hemsworth, who will reprise his role as the God of Thunder for the ninth time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a supporting cast that will feature the fan-favorite Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Taika Waititi as Korg. 

Taika Waititi will also return to the director's chair with a screenplay he wrote. Production is set to begin in August.

Thor: Love and Thunder hammers its way into theaters November 5, 2021.

@Tony93 - Beta Ray needs to be CGI/Prosthetic makeup. Bale would never go for that. He is too big of a star to not have his face shown.

It is most likely Gorr the God butcher.

Surprised to say the least. I think Taika has a lot of folks who want to work with him after Jojo did so well.

Cul would be dope for Bale.

He, along with Odin, were jealous and angered that Jane had become Thor. He was appointed Royal Inquisitor and Minister of Justice and sent to to retrieve the Mjolnir from the new Thor as someone besides Thor commanding it was seen as unjust.

Best Thor villain ever by far, but I doubt even if he's in Thor 4 it wouldn't be Bale because they have to market his face.

@RegularPoochie - Gorr is the best Thor villain. I really do hope he is the big bad for the next one, but it is unlikely because of the religious themes associated with the character. Who knows, maybe Disney will have the balls to tackle the subject matter.

Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors of all time and until next year, will still hold the spot for best live-action Batman so this is truly exciting.
