DOOM PATROL Season 3 Stills Give Us A First Look At Michelle Gomez As Madame Rouge
We recently found out that the third season of Doom Patrol is set to premiere on HBO Max this September, and we now have a first look at Michelle Gomez (Sabrina, The Flight Attendant) as Madame Rouge.
DC Universe may be no more, but we found out late last year that one of the streaming service's best original series, Doom Patrol, would continue on HBO Max, and the third season was recently given an official premiere date of September 23.
Scottish actress Michelle Gomez is set to join the cast in the recurring role of Madame Rouge, and thanks to EW, we have a first look at the character. This take on the classic DC Comics villain is described as “a complicated and electrifying eccentric who arrives at Doom Manor with a very specific mission… if only she could remember it.”

Rouge was introduced in the pages of the Doom Patrol comic book back in the '60s as a French stage actress and master of disguise who went on to become a leading member of the Brotherhood of Evil. Gomez appeared in Fox's Gotham, but will probably be best known for playing Madam Satan/Lilith in Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. More recently, she had a key role in HBO Max's The Flight Attendant.
EW reveals that this take on the character will arrive at Doom Manor via time-travel, and it sounds like she might be introduced as an all of the team.
"When I was talking to her about the part, I was trying to explain to her that in our eyes the Madame Rouge of Doom Patrol is much like the other characters in that you can't quite pin them as good or bad," says showrunner Jeremy Carer. "They've all done things they're ashamed of, but that doesn't necessarily make them bad people. This wrestling with 'Am I good or bad?' is really at the heart of Michelle's character arc this season, and she wrings more out of a line in terms of finding comedy or pathos than just about anybody. I think what she brings to the show is just thrilling."
Specific season 3 plot details are still under wraps, but Larry Trainor/Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Cliff Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), The Chief (Timothy Dalton), and Victor Stone/Cyborg (Joivan Wade) will all be back for more brilliantly bizarre adventure.
