Summary: The Dark Knight of Gotham faces multiple villains again in "Two-Face" and the "Riddler". After a criminal throws acid in the face of handsome prosecutor Harvey Dent, the former District Attorney spawns a villainous multiple personality named "Two Face", horribly scarred on one side (the evil side), and beautiful on the other (good side), he is a crime lord obsessed with indiscriminate chance--due to his view of the injustice of his injury. Using a two-sided coin, he makes all decisions by flipping either heads or tails. Two-Face illogically blames Batman for his disfigurement and simply wishes him dead. The Riddler, real name Edward Nygma, is a disgruntled inventor and ex-employee of Wayne Enterprises. Terribly jealous of Wayne's success and sophistication, and rebuffed for the invention of a device that meddles with the human mind, he uses riddles to show his superiority over Wayne and Batman. Inserting herself into the mix is a sexy criminal psychologist who is turned on by the Batman's split personality syndrome. And a crime-figting partner is born when Two-Face tries to blow up the circus. Acrobat Dick Grayson becomes the high flying boy wonder "Robin" when his whole family is killed by Two-Face's actions. Feeling guilty because it was all a ploy to draw out The Batman, Bruce adopts Dick, and eventually the youth discovers the Batcave. Also introduced in this movie is new director Joel Schumacher, credited with killing the franchise by bringing in too much kitch and neon.
