THE BATMAN: Colin Farrell Is Now In Negotiations To Play The Villainous Penguin
Some more The Batman casting news here, as the trades are reporting that Colin Farrell (Daredevil, Dumbo) is in talks to round out the movie's trio of villains as The Penguin. More past the jump...
It looks like Matt Reeves may have found his Penguin, as Deadline reports that none other than Colin Farrell (Daredevil, Dumbo) is currently in negotiations to round out The Batman's trio of villains as Oswald Cobblepot.
Farrell, who previously played Marvel Comics villain Bullseye in the Daredevil movie. is certainly an unconventional choice to play the diminutive, rotund Batman baddie, but he has proven to be a versatile actor over the years. It will be interesting to see if he gains weight for the role, or delivers a completely new take on the character.
Reeves recently confirmed that Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon, and he'll be joined by Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. Several other villains, including Two-Face, were also rumored to appear early on, but there's been no official word since.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
