My Spider-Man Reboot Series Fan Cast

This is a pretty massive Fan Cast so I hope you all bare with me and enjoy some of my choices. Hopefully you guys will comment so i can improve my casting choices.

Direction
The way I feel the Reboot should be handled should incorporate equal parts of 616 and the Ultimate universe. This would be a 6 Film Series and would be attached to the Marvel Studios continuity.

Writer(s):

Matthew Vaughn & Jane Goldman (Kick Ass, X-Men First Class): Not only did they do the impossible by making an X-Men Movie that the majority of fans were against that was good enough to change at least half of their opinions, but they also brought the visiual look and feel of both John Romita Jr. and Jack “King” Kirby’s amazing art, but they were able to give it just characters. They’re dynamite pair that pretty much writes gold. I would love to have seen what they would do with a PG-13 Spider-Man Movie.

Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2): In all honesty it’s rumored that his Original Iron Man 2 script was far better than the final film. He’s a good writer that goes as far as possible to craft an amazing script and to his credit he is a decent writer. I think throwing him a project such as Spider-Man would be well suited for his style of Action/Comedy.

Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil Director’s Cut, Grumpy Old Men): To his credit the DD director’s cut is by far the most amazing film that could be made from the character. If you give Johnson some stories to go by and allow him creative freedom he’ll turn in a better script then you might hand him. He might’ve done a bad Ghost Rider film, but his Director’s Cut of Daredevil makes up for it.

Director:

Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, X-Men First Class): Directing a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman is practically the formula for a good Non-Chris Nolan made Comic Book Movie. I love his style of directing especially with his style of writing it just makes for a good film.

Jon Favreau (Elf, Iron Man): He’s by far one of the best directors in Hollywood; he knows how to make a decent film. I think his style of realism in comic book movies are a well fit for the Spider-Man Universe.

Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil Director’s Cut, Ghost Rider): Admittingly Ghost Rider isn’t the best Comic Book Movie, it’s not as bad as the like of X-Men 3 but still… I do like him as a director he’s probably one of the few directors who takes the material to heart and makes the characters look their best, he can pen a great story and put it on screen, give him a stack of comics to follow and creative control and he’ll make a damn good film.

Suit:

Spider-Man/Peter Parker: Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider in high school, combined with his intelligence and physical stature, gave him the proportional powers and abilities of a spider. He could climb walls, shoot webbing, lift more than his own weight, and sense imminent danger, as some spiders do. Upon the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter decided that with great power comes great responsibility and thus became a superhero.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad, Role Models): Without question He is without a doubt my number one choice for Spider-Man this choice for the role is based on key traits as he has: the physicality, acting ability, and age for a decent high school oriented Spider-Man. I’ve grown to accept Andrew Garfield, never had a problem with him as an actor just his age. But you can’t win every battle, I choose Christopher Mintz-Plasse because to me he as an actor represents Spider-Man. He’s lanky, nerdy, and can spit out a smart mouthed comment when it fits. He is in my humble opinion the best actor for Spider-Man. While I know others will disagree (respectively I hope), I would be very confident in giving him a shot at the role.

(Alt.)

Jay Baruchel (Knocked Up, Sorcerer’s Apprentice): Sorcerer’s Apprentice didn’t suck and pretty much had the idea of Jay Baruchel as Spider-Man stuck in my head. He’s about a year older then Andrew Garfield so I guess I can’t give him or Andrew a hard time about age. He does certainly have the physique for it, and pretty much played the role in Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Bobby Campo (99, The Final Destination): My least favorite pick but still one I would agree with he’s the same age as current Spider-Man Andrew Garfield. I think he’s a decent actor he would definitely be worth a screen test I could see him in the role he reminds me a lot of the Romita Spider-Man which is probably why I would cast him.

Andrew Garfield (Social Network, Amazing Spider-Man): Not my number one choice but I’ll end up seeing the reboot and since the speech he gave at Comic Con I don’t feel like giving him any shit about playing the character.

Gwen Stacy: A blonde college co-ed, Gwen becomes the first love of Peter Parker (Spider-Man).

Emma Stone (Superbad, Zombieland): I do agree with Director Marc Webb’s choice in Gwen. My reason goes deeper then looks; she’s all in all a good actress and very fit for the role. She has shown star power and dedication to her role I can see why she was chosen.

Mary Jane Watson: Mary Jane is depicted as an extremely beautiful, green-eyed redhead, and has been the primary romantic interest of Peter Parker for the last twenty years, although initially competing with others for his affection, most prominently with Gwen Stacy and the Black Cat.

Elena Santine (Just go with it): Umm… Sorry I was staring at her pic, anyhow she’s a good actress I’m not sure if she could be considered “well know” or not but she is surely attractive and very talented I have no real complaints about her playing MJ if it would happen and would more than likely support it.

Felicia Hardy/Black Cat: Felicia Hardy is the daughter of a world-renowned cat burglar. After suffering a traumatic event as a college freshman, she trained herself in various fighting styles and acrobatics and, after deciding to follow in her father's footsteps, adopted her costumed identity as the Black Cat

Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men First Class, Hunger Games): Admitingly she’s a better actress then January Jones. She is a very good actress who I could see being physical enough to play the role.

Olivia Wilde (House M.D. TRON Legacy): She’s drop dead sexy, she’s a good actress and she looks young enough to pass as a 20 year old.

Uncle Ben: Ben Parker was the uncle and surrogate father of Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s alter ego. His death at the hands of a burglar that Spider-Man declined to pursue earlier forever propelled Peter into the role of a superhero.

Greg T. Nelson (Coach, The Incredibles): Mr. Incredible as Uncle Ben? I have to be honest I wouldn’t know how to say No to that. The Incredibles is a cult classic and one of Pixar’s best. Greg T. Nelson may be the right age and in my opinion the right man to play Uncle Ben.
(alt.)

Kurtwood Smith (That 70’s Show, Robocop): Kurtwood Smith is a great actor. Even though he plays characters with rough exteriors and a soft inside I think he would be phenomenal at playing Uncle Ben.

Aunt May: Aunt May is aunt-by-marriage and adoptive mother of Peter Parker, who leads a secret life as Spider-Man. She is nurturing and supportive of Peter although, throughout most of Spider-Man's history, she has not known of his secret life and considers Spider-Man frightening.

Jessica Lange (Big Fish, Cape Fear): She’s a great actress and very well talented. I loved her in her brief scenes in Big Fish and can honestly say that I wouldn’t be disappointed had she been cast.

(Alt.)

Glenn Close (The Shield, 101 Dalmatians): She’s probably one the best actresses of all time. Very talented and looks like Ultimate May Parker. She’s got what is necessary to play the role and that is the reason I would’ve cast her.

Richard Parker: Richard "Ray" Parker was a biologist instead of a spy. He and Mary supposedly died in an airplane accident with the Brocks when Peter was six, and Peter still has vague memories of his parents.

Robert Sean Leonard (Dead Poets Society, House M.D.): He really looks like how I could envision Richard Parker looking, and the way he plays Wilson on House fits the character. Whether you go the spy route or (my personal preference) the scientist route, I think he fits for the role.

Mary Parker: Mary Parker was a biologist instead of a spy. He and Mary supposedly died in an airplane accident when Peter was six, and Peter still has vague memories of his parents

Julie Benz (Dexter, Rambo): A fantastic Actress I think she could pull the role off and does look like she could play a mother.

Eddie Brock Sr.: Eddie “ED” Brock Sr. is a scientist and partner to Ray Parker, Mary Parker, and wife Jamie Brock. The four worked together to attempt to start their own company eventually causing the plane crash to take the lives of the Brocks and Parkers

Hugh Laurie (101 Dalmatians, House M.D.): He’s an amazing actor especially using him opposite a fellow House alumni I think he would sell the role better than most actors, despite being a fan favorite for J. Jonah Jameson.

(NO IMAGE AVAILABLE)
Jamie Brock: Jamie Brock is a scientist and partner to Ray Parker, Mary Parker, and Husband Ed Brock. The four worked together to attempt to start their own company eventually causing the plane crash to take the lives of the Brocks and Parkers

Jennifer Connelly (Hulk, Rocketeer): I really don’t know why, but she’s my number one choice for the bit part.

Eddie Brock/Venom: Son of Scientist Ed and Jaime Brock Eddie Jr. is a very scientifically gifted man whose interest leans closer to being a reporter until being screwed over by Spider-Man forces him to use science and eventually harnessing the symbiotic being called Venom.

Colin Farrell (Daredevil Director’s Cut, Fright Night): Now a lot of fans may not like him as an actor, but I do. I think he’s a pretty good actor, He’s got a great American accent. I think he could really harness the motivation and the style of movement as the 616 Venom.

(Alt.)

Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Serenity): He’s got the cockey attitude they got so many fans to want him to play Hal Jordan and Nathan Drake, but to be honest as good as he would be in those roles, I would love to see him play a villain such as Eddie. He’s got the physique and cocky attitude down I personally think he could play the role very well.

Tom Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises): He’s a method actor, when he plays a character he throws himself into the role and makes sure that he’s doing his best to give the character life. He’s got a great American accent and the look of Eddie Brock when muscled up.

Matt Bomer (White Collar, Texas Chainsaw Massacre the Beginning): He’s a great actor, I think he has the style you’d expect from Brock, a bit of the “player” look but also knows how to jump into action and really harness the essence of the role.

Garret Hedlund (Death Sentence, TRON Legacy): He’s just the type of actor who I could feel I trust in the role. He would really play up the party-boy style of Eddie Brock but he certainly wouldn’t be a wimp either.

Eugene “Flash” Thompson: Flash is a star high school football player and classmate of Peter Parker (secretly the superhero Spider-Man) who mercilessly bullies Peter. On the other hand, Flash greatly admires Spider-Man, an irony in which Parker takes some gratification.

Chris Zylka (Kaboom, The Amazing Spider-Man): I really have no problem with this choice.

(Alt.)

Nick Zano (The Final Destination, College): The guy is pretty good at playing an asshole and is pretty stocky for it too; he’d do a pretty damn good job at playing Flash.

J.Jonah Jameson: Jameson is the publisher or editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, a fictional New York newspaper and now serves as the mayor of New York City. Recognizable by his mustache, flattop haircut, and ever-present cigar, he carries out a smear campaign against Spider-Man that has turned much of the city against the hero. He employs photojournalist Peter Parker, who, unbeknownst to Jameson, is Spider-Man's alter ego.

Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle, Breaking Bad): Probably the choice I consider my second most confident choice. He’s a great actor who’s range is large enough to display the kind of feel necessary for J. Jonah Jameson.

(Alt.)

John C. McGuinly (Scrubs, Stealing Harvard): I really don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone play a hard ass quite like McGuinly. I think he’s about the right age to play the role, he certainly has the voice and presence to play the role.

Betty Brant: Betty Brant is the loyal secretary of J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle. She's a headstrong woman, trying to get by in life and having as much fun on dates as she can get.

Erica Durance (I Me Wed, Smallville): She’s got the looks and the positive attitude I could see in Betty Brant. She’s a good actress and while this wouldn’t be her break out moment I think this would be a good experience for her as an actress.

(Alt.)

Kat Dennings (The Answer Man, Thor): She was pretty damn good in Thor, I think she’s a good actor for this type of role (small but memorable.) I think she could leave some impression on people as Betty Brant.

Robby Robertson: Robertson was one of the first African-American characters in comics to play a serious supporting role, rather than act as comic relief. He has usually been a high-ranking editor at the New York newspaper The Daily Bugle and a close confidant of publisher J. Jonah Jameson, acting as a voice of reason in Jameson’s campaign to discredit Spider-Man. He is also more friendly and supportive of Peter Parker (Spider-Man’s alter ego) and other Bugle staffers than the brash Jameson.

Omar Epps (The Wood, House M.D.): admittingly he’s younger than many other choices but I really would like him to play the role he’s got the witty optimism I think he could interact with the actors well and really create a younger but true-to-character- Robby.

Chameleon/ Dmitri Smerdyakov: The Chameleon was born a Soviet citizen named Dmitri Smerdyakov. Eventually, Smerdyakov emigrated to the United States of America. As he had made a talent for himself during his youth, impressing his brother by impersonating friends and neighbors, he assumed an even more impressive disguise: the identity of the Chameleon.

Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction, The Incredible Hulk): He’s the kind of actor that really build his character. I think he fits with the old spy styled Chameleon from the 90’s animated series and he would be my top choice for the role itself.

The Shocker/ Herman Shultz: Shocker is a 33-year-old petty crook named Herman Schultz who raids money transports. He wears a purple trench coat and a pair of goggles to protect his eyes. He used to work at Roxxon Industries and invented his weapons there. He was fired later and then became the Shocker to "get what he deserves" for all the work he has done.

Jason Stathem (Transporter, Death Race): I’m a rare breed of Spider-Man fans, I’m one who would like to see the Shocker as a credible threat. He’s a cool character who’s also smart yet I feel that the only series to give him his due is the 90’s animated series. As for Stathem I think he could portray a convincing Shocker that would employ more than just his Shocking Gloves to a fight so Spider-Man could gain a challenging battle from it.

Harry Osborn: Harry Osborn is the rich son of Norman Osborn who meets and befriends Peter Parker. Norman eventually subjects himself to the Oz Formula, and he becomes the Green Goblin. He kills his wife, and attempts to kill Harry. Harry is placed into the custody of his uncle, but he eventually returned to his father and is brainwashed by Miles Warren to forget the previous events.

Thomas Dekker (Terminator Sarah Conner Chronicles, A Nightmare on Elm Street): He’s a good actor and a fan favorite for Harry Osborn and I can see why, I don’t have any qualms about it, I think he could do it well.

(Alt.)

Anton Yelchin (Terminator Salvation, Star Trek): Another fan favorite that was also wanted for the role of Spider-Man he’s another great actor who I see no real fault in playing the role.

Green Goblin/Norman Osborn: The original Green Goblin, Norman Virgil Osborn, Norman Osborn was originally an industrialist head of OSCORP and father of Spider-Man's best friend, Harry Osborn, who took a serum which enhanced his physical abilities and intellect but also drove him to insanity. He adopted a Halloween-themed appearance, dressing in a goblin costume, riding on a bat-shaped "Goblin Glider", and using an arsenal of high-tech weapons, notably grenade-like "Pumpkin Bombs", to terrorize New York City.

Aaron Eckhart (Thank You for Smoking, The Dark Knight): Watching him snap in the Dark Knight was easily one of the best moments of the movie, He’s certainly old enough and while he’s not a fan favorite choice I think he’s got ample ability to play the role and with a unique twist on it.

The Lizard/Curt Conners: Curtis Connors was born in Coral Gables, Florida. He was a gifted surgeon who enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent off to war. He performed emergency battlefield surgery on wounded GIs, but his right arm was injured in a blast and had to be amputated. After his return to civilian life as a research technologist, Connors became obsessed with uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration and studied reptilian biology extensively.

Billy Crudup (Big Fish, Watchmen): He’s the kind of actor who I can see just playing the good intelligent man that Dr. Conners is. I think he’s got the look of an intelligent man, he certainly has the ability if you’ve see Watchmen.

(Alt.)

Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, The Green Hornet): While he’s an Oscar winner who pretty much jumps into the role of his character and reinvents himself to artistically match that. I think he’s a good choice by far, but I’ll admit I almost put him on the list for Green Goblin.

Doc Ock: A highly intelligent mad scientist, Doctor Octopus is one of the archenemies of Spider-Man. He is typically portrayed as a stocky, myopic man who utilizes four powerful, mechanical appendages, and is obsessed with proving his own genius and destroying Spider-Man.

John Cusak (High Fidelity, Martian Child): He’s a member of HWF(Hollywood Watchmen Fanboys) he’s a fantastic actor and to be honest I think he would do a great job with Doc Ock. I think he has the style and the movements to make the character natural.

(Alt.)

Ian McShane (Death Race, Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides): He’s a favorite actor among nerds and he’s a damn good actor in general, I would love to see him really take the reins and see what type of Doc Ock he would create.

Paul Giamatti (Sideways, Shoot ‘Em Up): He’s good at showing intelligence and arrogance at the same time, he easily draws a menacing feel around him and he’s closer to being an original choice for the role.

Michael Morbius/Morbius the Living Vampire:
Once a brilliant scientist who in a tragic experiment was grossly transformed into Morbius the Living Vampire. Once transformed he began a heroic struggle to attempt to destroy the Evil Vampires.

Gaspard Ulliel (Hannibal Rising): This is my only choice he reminds me a lot of Michael Morbius from the 90's Animated Series which is why I would cast as Morbius.

Carnage/Cletus Kasaday: Homicidal maniac Cletus Kasady was serving eleven consecutive prison terms when an opportunity for early parole presented itself in the form of his new cell mate: Eddie Brock, human host to a symbiotic costume once worn by Spider-Man. Monster and man had merged to become the villainous Venom, but Brock was separated from the alien during a battle with the web-slinger. While Brock waited for the symbiote to spring him from prison, eventually when sprang from Prison a piece of the symbiot had bonded with Kasady to form Carnage

Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, Bad News Bears): This choice pertains to a dream I had where I was watching a Carnage T.V. Series that was pre-symbiot where Jackie played Cletus Kasady and it was by far the best performance I had seen since then he’s my number one for the role.

(Alt.)

Michael Sheen (TRON Legacy, Kingdom of Heaven): The energy of his performance really send him to be one of the better actors I’ve seen. He has an energy that just flows with carnage and chaos that really lends to the idea he could.

Crispin Glover (Willard, Back to the Future): He’s a fan favorite for the Joker the most famous Batman villain of all time. He’s great at playing a sadist and a killer. I for one think this would be the perfect role for him to display his talents. By far one of the better choices for the role.

Cillian Murphy (Red Eye, Batman Begins): If Batman Begins didn’t convince me that he would be great for the role then it would be Red Eye. He can generate a cold stoic appearance that looks like that of a crazed psychopath.

Jeffry Combs (Re-Animator, Batman the Animated Series): The only real downfall to casting him as Carnage I feel is his age but as time goes on age becomes less and less important in roles, he has the style the movements that would really create something fearful and new to the role.

Quentin Beck/ Mysterio: Former FX artist put out of work due to CGI companies Quentin Beck turned his talents to getting revenge on those who once wronged him and because Mysterio master of illusion.

Matthew Goode (Watchmen, Match Point): No doubt an actor who has the fluency and style that lends itself to a role such as Mysterio. I could see him playing the role flawlessly while creating his own version of the character.

(Alt.)

David Tennet(Fright Night, Dr.Who): He’s an actor with a wide range I personally think this is the best Spider-Man oriented role for him he’s a great actor and has a fan-base to draw in for the film.

Electro/ Max Dillon: As a result of experimentation by Justin Hammer, Max Dillon is given the power to control and create electricity. He is sold by Hammer to the Kingpin in exchange for a real estate development contract

Joseph-Gordon Levitt (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises): So many people like Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an actor, and at least half of them wanted to see him play The Joker. Personally I would like to see him play Electro. I don’t have an answer for it all I know is he’s a great actor and this is the type of role I would want to see him in.

Vulture/ Adrian Toomes: Adrian Toomes is an elderly scientist who claims that Oscorp has stolen his flying technology and, seeks revenge against Norman Osborn.

Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Halloween): He’s by far one of the most talented and well known actors of all time. I love A Clockwork Orange and I love his rendition of Loomis in the otherwise horrid Halloween Remake (I could explain why I hate it but that’s a rant for another time) I would love to see him fully develop and recreate the vulture in his image McDowell would have to be my number one choice for it.

(Alt.)

Tobin Bell (the Quick and the Dead, Saw): Very few people play Creepy like Tobin, He did great in the Saw films. He is a great actor all together. I think he has the ability to play the vulture and give him a definitive voice and look. I think he would do the film based on the material, the character, and the audience (PG-13 ratings) He’s a solid pick for the role in my humble opinion.

Scorpion/Mac Gargan: Mac Gargan was a private investigator who was hired by J. Jonah Jameson to find out how Peter Parker was able to obtain the photos of Spider-Man. When Spider-Man evaded Mac Gargan, J. Jonah Jameson decided to use Mac Gargan as a test subject for an experiment done by Farley Stillwell which led to Mac Gargan becoming the Scorpion in order to defeat Spider-Man.

Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2, Galaxy Quest): Now a lot of people would prefer someone more “built” or “in tone” for the role, but I kinda like the idea of a predatory match, I like scorpion as a character, scorpions are the natural prey to a spider. I like Rockwell and I think his physique would allow him to fluently move against any of my Spider-Man choices.

Kraven the Hunter/ Sergei Kravenoff: Sergei Kravinoff is a Russian and the host of his own reality show in which he hunts down dangerous animals, and intends to hunt and kill Spider-Man on live television in order to boost his ratings.

Gerard Butler (300, Law Abiding Citizen): He’s a fan favorite for the role and it’s easy to see why he pretty much plays a warrior in every role he get’s near and I for one would like to see his version of Kraven the Hunter.

(Alt.)

Karl Urban (Pathfinder, LotR): He’s honestly my personal favorite for the role. He might be busy with Dredd and Star Trek sequels but if I was putting Kraven in a film he’d honestly be my number one choice.

Rhino/Alex O’Hirn: Originally a common petty crook under Big Man, O'Hirn was partnered with Flint Marko, and (briefly) Shocker. The two friends had repeated run-ins with Spider-Man and were getting frustrated at constantly being dupes and punching bags. Eventually realizing Spider-Man must be made to get out of his way, Big Man had O'Hirn used as a guinea pig in Oscorp's illegal experiments.

Kevin Durand (Walking Tall, X-Men Origins Wolverine): He’s one of those few good actors whose also a tall person that can.

That's about it...

Worked on this for a couple days and finally got everything together to post this. Hope everyone enjoyed it please leave a comment it would be greatly appreciated.

this was rather hit and miss with me.

also, you said this would be part of the MCU. then Roth, Rockwell and Dennings wouldn't work. they're already playing established characters.

Nice Cast! Chris would make a cool Peter, but I like Andrew Garfield!

I like Thomas Dekker as Harry Osborn!
I've always thought Aaron Eckhart would be a great Norman Osborn!

Collin Farrell and tom Hardy would be sweet as Venom!

The rest of your cast is good, but I would change Hugh Laurie and Jennifer Connelly to Richard and Mary Parker.

@RunDTC what about Ray Stevenson he's play Volstagg in the Thor movies yet he's been actively talking to Marvel about Playing the Punisher

i agree with @RunDTC this was very hit and miss for me..and imo you should narrow down your choices instead of putting several up for one character...What i did that helped is that i cast a mojority of that universe (Marvel or DC) and then put up a fan casts taht lead up to a major fan cast like my Justice League

Sorry but this kinda a hit or miss for me, I'll take Garfield over all your spidey picks he's 10 times the actor rest of your picks are. Mark Steven Johnson shouldn't touch another CBM after Ghost Rider. Hell get Edgar Wright to write the script or even Joe Cornish. Your MJ pick can't act for shit she was more wooden then Welling on Smallville yeah she is sure hot but she can't act, Winstead or Rachel Evan Woods would be better picks, rest of the cast is OK but if this is meant to be apart of the MCU then why are roth, rockwell, and denning in the cast.

@SupermanManofSteelReturns: I hadn't heard that about Stevenson. that does seem kind of dumb, especially since he's already played Punisher in a non-canon movie. AND THEY KILLED MICRO!
