What did you think of tonight's episode of The CW's Arrow? The Count (Seth Gabel) returned as did the drug called Vertigo to the streets of Starling City but not everything was as straightforward as they seemed?

Diggle (David Ramsey) got his hands dirty tonight and the final scene between the Merlyns hinted at a character shift for Tommy (Colin Donnell). This episode, written by Bryan Q. Miller and Lindsey Allen attempted a 'Kansas City Shuffle;' do you think it was successful? Cast your vote and voice your opinion in the comments below.

GUEST STAR SETH GABLE ("FRINGE") RETURNS AS THE COUNT - When a young woman meets a violent death after partying at Verdant, Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and his new partner, Detective Hilton (guest star Roger Cross) inform Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Tommy (Colin Donnell) that she was on the drug Vertigo. Oliver immediately pays a visit to the mental institution where The Count (guest star Gabel) is locked up, but finds he is in no condition to deal drugs. However, when The Count escapes and Starling City is flooded with even more Vertigo-related violence, Oliver and Diggle (David Ramsey) make it their mission to track him down. After Detective Lance uncovers incriminating evidence against him, Tommy goes to great lengths to clear his name, and the fallout from his actions leads Tommy down a new, unexpected path. In a flashback to the island, Oliver recalls the lessons he learned from Slade (guest star Manu Bennett) and Shado (guest star Celina Jade). Katie Cassidy and Emily Bett Rickards also star. Michael Offer directed the episode written by Bryan Q. Miller & Lindsey Allen (#119).

Great episode. Glad to see that Island Oliver is about to become the Oliver who jumps across rooftops and put Arrows into peoples chest.

Comparison of arrow characters with batman characters

count vertigo=joker

huntress=talia al-ghul

diggle=alfred

felicity=oracle

the undertaking=league of shadows

tommy merlin=hush

Note: I think that they are exactly the same but they do have some very notable similarities

I didn't realize alfred was a middle aged special ops trained solider?

yeah I see him more as a robin/alfred hybrid.
Also in the new cartoon, alfred does have a gun....

There are obvious similarities between Batman and arrow but even if you look at the history of the comics those similarities were always there. Green Arrow had the "arrow car" and a sidekick etc. Anytime you do a "real life" hero there will be somethings in likeness to Batman. He is the creme de la creme of non powered superheroes. The episode was good. I like what they did with Ollie and Tommy, the search warrant etc. brought some good tension, I was disappointed he left to join his father but this show moves pretty fast. So far, other than a few missteps this show is pretty good.

Oh yeah there are still some major differences. Arrow is most definitly inspired by batman and I just noticed that with this episode

@SlaveMasterFlexxx, wait for it. His club is called "verdant" which means green. There are obvious hints. Plus the mask has been talked about a thousand times.

^Exactly FIRG! I suggest everyone go try to shoot with a mask on. See if it affects your aim.

He should go with no make up or mask like he did for a period in the Grell run.

@Dev7 Vertigo is crazier or maybe just more cartoonish than Scarecrow.

But they definitely have similarities.

Loved this episode. This episode was full of surprises and great drama. Diggle getting so action now. I love the action scenes in this show. Hopefully my wish comes true where he get an episode that is all about him.

The island training stuff was pretty good 2. I like the story she told for him. I found it obvious he would take training from her without a hesitation. She is fine as hell. He will put in all the hours of training even if he learns nothing to be next her.

One thing about mask is if the hero is not waring a full face mask like batman or deathstroke, then the mask just is just as useless as eyepaint. I dont think army people use paint to hide their identity, but they use it for something. I think a fake beard would work wonders at hiding his identity than just putting on a mask.

I understand the complaints about the mask, but those who say it's not "from the comics" are mistaken... Ollie painted a mask on his face during Mike Grell's Green Arrow run, which heavily (along with Andy Diggle's Green Arrow: Year One) inspired Arrow in the first place.

Also, wouldn't it be nuts if Andrew Diggle was still alive? John Diggle would have some issues then...

Great episode. Starting to see more character development for Diggle and Roy. Season 2 should be a blast. I believe Arrow has surpassed many people's expectations and has been a good entertaining and action packed show.

Best ep so far, but this version of the count is stupid and beyond dumb. And why is arrow a better detective than Nolan's batman?

@Gurillapud

Because Nolan's Batman isn't Batman. It's Baleman. Nolan's Batman isn't really anything except someone for the bad guys to beat.

Good show in general. Green Arrow's gotta be the most underrated character in the entire DC universe.
