Well I'm down for this. I have to imagine it will change from how it was in the comics, but that's okay.

It'll be impossible to adapt properly but the basic premise is enough to get it going. REALLY, REALLY hoping he ends on a high note. Going to miss this guy in the role.

It won't be a direct adaptation, but it'll be taking inspiration from it, I assume. Like Batman v Superman will do with The Dark Knight Returns.

@MrCBM is right. The premise of Old Man Logan is extensive enough for a basic, and completed story. Obviously it won't be a thorough, fully comprehensible adaption. Here's to hoping they create something organic, some frustrations and themes have either been explored or hinted at in previous films, including a big one in The Wolverine (if memory serves correct).

Instead of Hawkeye use Nightcrawler and explore their friendship. Juggarnaut instead of Hulk, you can keep Magneto... Omega Red is long overdue I think.

The Savage Land and Moloids are disposable.

Think about it; Jackman's played Wolverine through 3 Spider-Man's, 3 Hulk's, 2 Superman's, 2 Batman's and 2 reboots of his own franchise (OT - DOFP, Origins - The Wolverine) where he's the only one not recast.

I think they're just going to use the name, like how Age of Ultron wasn't based on the actual event but used the name. Because there is no way we're getting a proper Old Man Logan adaption without Hawkeye, Hulk, Mysterio, Red Skull and about 20+ other superheroes owned by Marvel Studios.

He was simply referring to himself as Old Man Logan; a nod to how long he's been in the role. And he's already said they're not adapting Old Man Logan.

There's NO WAY Marvel is gonna put out a new Old Man Logan comic for Fox to mine if they knew a movie was coming.

You can add 2 Daredevils, 2 Elektras, 2 sets of Fantastic Fours, 2 Green Lanterns, 2 Jokers.

By the time this movie comes out, he will have played Wolverine for 18 years and 9-10-11 times (X-Men, X2, Last Stand, Origins, First Class, The Wolverine, DoFP, Apocalypse, Old Man Logan, and possibly Deadpool and Gambit).

It's definitelly not going to be a 100% adaptation, but as with Days Of Future Past, I am excited they can make it work, and make it work good.

Also, side note, I just finished watching Justice League Gods and Monsters, and I LOVED IT!

Awesome! I hope they take inspiration from Mad Max: Fury Road, Old Man Logan would fit well with that gritty octane style.

I mean, they revealed the title card "Wolverine" erm, surely that can't be the name?

Sadly, Wolverine is watered down, but with Marvel Studios he'd be watered down even more. The Wolverine had a cool unrated version on the DVD which is more like how a Wolverine movie should be.

Good to know that this will probably be the last time Jackman gets to cry on screen as Logan. Can't we just get one movie in which Logan is a competent and efficient fighter? I'm tired of him being an emotional wreck in every appearance. Given his development in OML, this is going to be unavoidable. SMH.

Fox doesnt care what characters are actually SUPPOSED to be in a plotline, they'll just bastardize the material and throw peeps in for the hell of it, because you know, Fox.

Am I the only one that's concerned about using this story? Old Man Logan featured the rest of the MCU...heavily, hell the inbred hulks were a massive part and the reason Logan came outta retirement, then there's the venom trex, red skull in Bucky caps costume....

I mean I suppose you could subsistute those characters for characters from the Xmen world but would it have the same impact?

I just wouldn't want Jackmans last outing as Wolverine to come out and be less than satisfying because they didn't go the right direction with it...cause then that'll be what he's remembered for...

Should be interesting considering they have rights to practically none of the key characters to that story. They'll have to completely re-imagine the story, but it's a cool story if they pull it off

When Fox got you MAAAAAAAD excited for Old Man Logan but you remember that Hulk won't be involved or any of the other Marvel heroes that make that story so cool
