If you haven't heard, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg And James Weaver are working on a live-action adaptation of Steve Dillon and Garth Eniss' Preacher for AMC. However, had that deal fell through, they would've turned their attention to makng a live-action tv series from
Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's Y: The Last Man. While speaking to Collider, Goldberg stated, "Y: The Last Man as a feature is ludicrous. It’s perfectly made to be a TV show." However, Weaver adds that the script for the "Y" movie was pretty good, "I want to say…I read a lot of scripts, so I’m going to give a little bit of a caveat, but I feel like I read Y, and it’s a very good feature script.” Goldberg goes on to say that had their Preacher television series not been given the green light, attention would have turned to trying to adapt Y: The Last Man or television. "Y: The Last Man would be such a good show. And I loved it! I just didn’t like the last two pages. They were weird."
Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin is also serving as a showrunner.
