Following a first batch of stills and a poster featuring Henry Golding as the enigmatic ninja of the title, we have word that the first trailer for Paramount's Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins will premiere during the MTV Movie Awards tomorrow night.

The movie's Twitter account made the announcement, while unveiling another poster... of some dice. Not exactly what you'd call a revealing new look at the reboot, but there you go!

Check out the poster at the link below, and click here to take a look at Hasbro's range of tie-in action figures.

"A tenacious loner is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him."

Golding will be joined by Andrew Koji (Fast & Furious 6) as Storm Shadow, Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) as Scarlett, Úrsula Corberó (The Secret Life of Pets) as Baroness, and Iko Uwais (The Raid) as Hard Master. The movie is directed by Robert Schwentke.

We recently found out that the G.I. Joe Origins movie has been pushed up from its original October release, and will now hit theaters on July 23.

Hopefully this will be for “G.I. Joe” what “Bumblebee” was for “Transformers.”

@Benjamitesandwich - I think it will be harder to rip off iron giant with Snake Eyes

@Benjamitesandwich - I might be the only one, but I wanna see both lead up to a Hasbro shared movie universe

I really didn't care about this movie at all, but Samara Weaving has me hoping that it's good. I'm very curious about this one.

@Hawkguy - Wait, she's in this? Do I... do I have to care about a G.I. Joe movie now too?

I looked up the director and he's done a couple of those lame y.a. Divergent flicks and R.I.P.D. if anyone even remembers that turd. Sounds like it'll be another hackjob

@Feralwookiee - R.I.P.D? Not even an airplane movie.

Movie already starting downhill by showing his face and having him talk

@BlackBeltJones - I think it’ll lead up to why he doesn’t remove his mask anymore and his vow of silence

@WruceBayne - If its anythinthing like the original comics he didn't take a vow of silence. His vocal cords got damaged on a mission.

This almost looks like its trying to go by the source, by showing his face. But I don't know. I have zero faith in this movie. The GI Joe franchise has been handled in extremely embarrassing fashion. I'm taking an "I'll believe it when I see it" approach as far as hoping it will be good. Because at this point I have no hope.

Never had an interest in GI Joe (goes for figures, show and movies), but I'm actually looking forward to this. But thats probably because I enjoy martial arts movies, and that was the only goed part in Retaliation.

Anyway, MTV Awards? Is that still a thing?

Honestly, who cares for this/is asking for this?
Why not just make an assassin movie, or an actually good GI Joe movie?
