Marvel kicked off San Diego Comic-Con yesterday with a brand new look at their Inhumans television series; in addition to a second trailer, several scenes from the series pilot were screened during the panel. One of these scenes (which Loeb referred to as "The Dinner Sequence") saw the royal family discussing the spread of Terrigen in Earth's water supply, directly acknowledging the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season.

Whether Inhumans includes any further references to S.H.I.E.L.D. remains to be seen, but with both programs airing on ABC and the latter heading into outer space in the upcoming season, it's not hard to imagine the two crossing over at some point.

Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb also revealed that ABC's broadcast-exclusive version of the Inhumans’ pilot would contain additional scenes not shown in theatres, with Loeb comparing the difference to “a variant cover” from a comic book.  Inhumans will premiere in IMAX theatres on September 1, followed by the broadcast debut on September 29. Will you be watching in theatres? Let us know in the comments.

The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
