Following a last-minute renewal last week, The CW has now confirmed what we all more or less expected anyway: That the upcoming fifth season of iZombie, set to air in 2019, will indeed be the show's last.

While it was somewhat expected after its last-second renewal last week, The CW has now confirmed that iZombie season five will indeed be the show's final season. It's undoubtedly sad news for fans of the acclaimed series, but it does appear as though loyal viewers will be able to get some real closure before all is said and done.

The fifth and final season will air midseason 2019, presumably with another 13-episode order.

In the meantime, the currently ongoing fourth season is swiftly approaching the finish line with only two episodes remaining and next Monday's installment looks to be a doozy as Liv (Rose McIver) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) deal with the aftermath of Isobel's (Izabela Vidovic) tragic death last week. With Liv temporarily occupied with her duties as Renegade and dealing with an unexpected curveball from Major (Robert Buckley), it'll be up to Ravi to partner with Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) to help him on his latest case.

"You've Got to Hide Your Liv Away" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

RAVI AND CLIVE WORK TOGETHER - Ravi (Rahul Kohli) and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) work together to solve a case. Meanwhile, Major (Robert Buckley) pulls a surprising move on Liv (Rose McIver). David Anders, Aly Michalka and Robert Knepper also star. Jason Bloom directed the episode written by Diane Ruggiero-Wright & John Bellina (#412). Original airdate 5/21/2018.

Will Seattle become the capital of the zombie homeland? In season three, Liv has discovered there are more zombies living in Seattle than she previously believed, including a private military contractor employing a zombie army that is preparing for the day humans learn of their existence. Major finds acceptance in this army, and Liv and Clive investigate the murder of a zombie family that may set off an all-out zombie-human war. Ravi’s former boss at the Center for Disease Control shows up in Seattle to investigate the Max Rager massacre. Blaine finds living as a human with no memory of his evil past is more blessing than curse. Peyton pulls at a thread in one of her cases that may lead to the villain that’s pulling all the strings. This action-packed season will see Liv take on the traits of a dominatrix, a JACKASS-style stunt man, an office gossip, a pre-school teacher, a conspiracy theorist, a dungeon master, and more.

iZombie features:
Rose McIver as Olivia "Liv" Moore
Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babineaux
Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti
Robert Buckley as Major Lilywhite
David Anders as Blaine DeBeers
Aly Michalka as Peyton Charles
Robert Knepper as Angus McDonough
Bryce Hodgson as Don Everhart
Tongayi Chirisa as Justin
Jason Dohring as Chase Graves

iZombie returns with an all-new episode May 14

Really great show and hopefully it ends with people finding out vampires and werewolves are walking along side them, like they did in the comics.

Good, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

At least now we can get a proper finale, and not a cliffhanger ending.

At least it will have a proper ending! But no more liv/major por el amor de dios.

@NatchiosElektra - How about Liv makes up with her mother and brother. It won't be a proper ending until that is actually resolved one way or another.

@ScionStorm - I agree, maybe they will since it's the last season, but the writers love to give Liv a new boyfriend every season that dies like 5 episodes later because that's more important than family right?! The same with her and the relationship with Major, i can't stand it anymore. Taking that away, I really like the show.

CW:"We must have 12 seasons of Supernatural and 2 spin-offs of Vampire Diaries!"

"What about that other supernatural show, iZombie?"

CW: "We'll give it one more season. After that, though, it has clearly overstayed it's welcome."

This show is still a thing? Or as Tony said to Scott Lang, “Who are you?”

That's a major letdown. This show has gotten better and better each and every season.

At least it's not cancelled and they get to go out with a proper ending.

Hope Rose finally gets recognized for her excellent work on the show
