Curious to see how Sam's Cap-ness plays out in the Falcon/Bucky show. I think it was a good call to give the shield to him.

@Kyos - Bucky was a match for Cap with his arm and strength. He didn’t really need the shield to be the equivalent of Captain America. Where as the Falcon needs the shield to be on a level par with Bucky and be his equal partner in a show.

I think it would have been a perfect way for Cap to allow a "true" redemption for Bucky by passing the shield to him, but on the other hand... some part of me feels like it would have been too soon? I don't know why.

I think the way it played out with Falcon, at least in that scene, was just as-equally if not more-so deserving.

@Kurne - I'm sure early on they meant for it to go to Bucky.

@Nebula - yeah well back then I'm pretty sure Falcon wasn't even Cap in the comics yet, so any nod would solely go to Bucky. But I'm sure they did debate about it leading into Endgame.

@Kurne - Makes sense. Though I will say that I don't think there's been a single moment, like the above gif, which hints at Falcon taking over. Meanwhile, there's been multiple for Bucky.

The only time Sam's even touched the shield was for less than a second in a deleted scene from Civil War.

I teared up during that scene. I can't wait to see Falcon in the red white and blue suit.

Falcon deserves the Captain America mantle. I just hope they explore more of his backstory and motivations. That also goes for Rhodey.

Spencer's run is literally the only time i liked the character.
Never been a fan of Sam.
But the Russos did a good job i guess.
Although Mackie is definitely not as humble as Chris...

@Doomsday8888 - In real life oh hell no Mackie is definitely not anywhere near Evans level of humble, but on screen Sam is absolutely there he's the underdog you love to root for because he's just a loyal soldier following orders.

It makes most sense in universe for it to go to Sam over Bucky. Bucky has been brainwashed for decades and then was recuperating in Wakanda till Thanos happened. He’s not ready to step up as a hero yet

Bucky should have been Cap II. It makes more sense for Bucky to get the mantle.

I was on the fence with the move for so many reasons. Giving it to Bucky would have been the wrong move. He killed too many people for an Anti-American organization. i kinda cringe when I hear that, because you can't help to think some are saying it because Bucky is white. The other issue I have is that Falcon does not have the super soldier serum, but this is a comic arc I'm not familiar with, so maybe he gets it??? Additionally, Evans is a pretty boy with muscles and not that Mackie is ugly, but there are some more attractive African American males that would have suited that role (I know, primadonna moment) in terms of the "Star Looks" department go. It does add breathe some fresh life and intrique moving forward.

Deserves and I’m excited for the show but give me a cap movie with this man ASAP

Makes sense in universe. Sam is as morally upright as Cap. It was beautifully handled.

I really hope Falcon & Winter Soldier focus on Sam and Bucky both trying to live up to the Captain America mantle, and in the end deciding neither is truly worthy of the shield
