Romeo Miller Says He Was Approached For BLACK PANTHER & Is Interested

While promoting his new movie Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection, Romeo Miller (previously Lil' Romeo) is asked if he has any interest in filling the role of T'Challa.

Since Latino-Review came out with the claim that Marvel Studios' 2014 mystery film is in fact Black Panther, several actors have been asked and expressed interest in playing the superhero. Next on our list is Romeo Miller, the rapper/actor who is best known by his previous stage name, Lil' Romeo is asked by if he wants to be the King of Wakanda.
With Marvel possibly doing a film on the Black Panther, is that a role you can see yourself doing?

RM: I would love to. I remember that before Jumping the Broom got released, there were some producers were talking about shopping the script to some people and I was one of the people they contacted and was asked if it was something I would be interested in. You never know. I definitely want to take in and be the next big action hero. That may be something that’s cool.

Dear god, no.

Just... no.
TheAmarilloBlack - 6/26/2012, 3:26 PM
"before Jumping the Broom got released"

so hopefully they'll go with a more experienced actor this time around...preferably a martial artist...

TheAmarilloBlack - 6/26/2012, 3:29 PM
^Michael Jai White^

jessepostal - 6/26/2012, 3:45 PM
Patientzero is right he's horrible. He was already a superhero and was terrible at it also
bane187 - 6/26/2012, 3:46 PM
No god please no
TheAmarilloBlack - 6/26/2012, 3:58 PM
Anthony Mackie is highly over-rated, Aldis Hodge is a good choice, though...but Michael Jai White should be Black Panther's stunt double at the very least.

I think Marvel is smart enough to to get this idiot in the mix
AutobotCommander84 - 6/26/2012, 4:02 PM
I remember watching Romeo on Nickelodeon when I was like five years old. I haven't seen him in ANYTHING since.

T'Challa is native African, not African-American. Romeo Miller is too light-skinned for the role.

This has me a little worried that this is the look Marvel is looking at for the character. He says they were shopping the script to people when Jumping the Broom was released, which was May of last year. Remember an interview with T.I. back in March when he said Marvel had been acquiring about his availability for a franchise for some time? "For some time" could mean about a year, right? And both Romeo and T.I. share a similar look. It could be the same role.

I don't know. They just don't fit my vision of T'Challa. You look at them and they look like they're American and not African. I'd image an actor with a darker complexion and less "pretty boy" looks for the character. I hope Marvel does too.

@AutobotCommander84, 5 years old? I know you're probably just joking, but the actor was 14 when he had his Nickelodeon show.
DEADP0000L - 6/26/2012, 4:12 PM
romeo an actor???
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 6/26/2012, 4:14 PM
Hmmm.....No. No thank you.
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 6/26/2012, 4:16 PM
These are some interesting suggestions for Black Panther, you guys. But I honestly can't pick any other actors for this role. I just don't know. Well, whoever Marvel picks, I hope that he has some great acting skills and knows how to get into character and present to all of us fanboys a outstanding BP performance. :)

Stay EPIC, my friends!

No that's what's called a lie, and is him trying to get his name thrown in the mix.
yaktheripper - 6/26/2012, 4:17 PM
dear god no
LAXtremest - 6/26/2012, 4:20 PM
I wonder what the reaction would be if they cast a white actor?

But I would like to suggest some costumes/suits that I hope Marvel Studios and the director of the Black Panther movie should take into consideration.

Or this....

Either of those costumes would definitely do great on the big screen. :)

I'm taking Gary Oldman's stance on Black Panther: No basketball players & no rappers.
BubblesShedAndBreakfast - 6/26/2012, 4:28 PM
@LAXtremest Just get RDJ to play him(Tropic Thunder) that way he can get 2 Marvel paychecks!
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 6/26/2012, 4:29 PM
Just by looking at my costume/suit suggestions, I'm really hoping that Marvel goes with the gold armor pieces. It really gives the costume that dynamic look to it. Something sleek, menacing, and dynamic. Also, they should include a type of staff or battle bow for his choice of weapon.

In this pic, I'm definitely going for this look for BP. Maybe take out the cape so that audience and fans won't mistaken BP for Batman (Visually, they do look similar). :)
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/26/2012, 4:30 PM
White would be cool if T´Challa were older but cause the movie is most probably origin story i say the actor has to be young. Lets say under thirty. And definitely actor first. Forget these Rappers turned actors dudes.

Aldis Hodge seems like an interesting choice. I havent seen his acting lately.
Only movie i have seen him is Die Hard 3 and he was a kid back then.

santoanderson - 6/26/2012, 4:31 PM
It's funny how whenever Black Panther is brought up on this site, the article is instantly spammed with pictures of Michael Jai White from 10 years ago. Guy's too old, and he's too shitty of an actor to carry another superhero franchise. I don't care how ripped he is. Find someone who can act first, and then get him a gym membership.

50 cents. Got my vote along with Shaq, Simbad, and LL Cool Jay
Himura - 6/26/2012, 4:37 PM
Don't kill me but I do believe that they need to cast someone who is already pretty popular for Black Panther. I'm not necessarily saying Romeo but not Michael Jai White either.
Black Panther isn't as well known as say, Thor, Capt America, etc so the movie would really benefit from a big name star to play the lead.
Sure that's not what the fans may want but that's how the industry works. Bottom line is, Hollywood makes movies for the money. If it's not gonna bring them a profit (or if they don't think it will) they wont make it.
MitchConner - 6/26/2012, 4:37 PM
Dijoumon Hisou, didn't spell it right but that's him, Blood Diamond
picoplaya - 6/26/2012, 4:42 PM
yes definately djimon hounsou. no contest, he's tall cut , can act and has a real
BIGBMH - 6/26/2012, 4:42 PM
I could see Romeo more as a young Sam Wilson in a supporting role for Captain America 2. I haven't seen him act though.
ManThing - 6/26/2012, 4:43 PM
@ Theamazingspidey63: Great pics
MitchConner - 6/26/2012, 4:43 PM
That would make the movie incredible...honestly I don't know how anyone in Hollywood is considering anyone different
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 6/26/2012, 4:45 PM
@Juggernaut - Thanks, dude. I try my best looking for the best ones. :)
