Speaking to Deadline, the actor revealed that he might be interested in portraying the Daywalker again. Of course, he's not the only one!

Wesley Snipes has had a few problems recently. Well that's an understatement. The actor was looking at 3 year stint in prison for a little misunderstanding with the IRS. Now he's back and looking to make movies again. During an interview with Deadline about an upcoming producing gig on Code Name Zorro, which focuses on FBI Chief J Edgar Hoover's vendetta against Martin Luther King Jr., Snipes told them that he might not be ready to hand up the Vamp killing gear just yet.



"Acting is my main lane, and I’m planning to expand that, taking the success of films like Blade and marinating that into something that flourishes. Maybe we get around to doing another Blade, except, from what I’m reading, every other actor is talking about playing him, and nobody is talking to Wesley. How strange that they don’t come and talk to me about it.”

Those other actors Snipes is referring to would include Idris Elba and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje who have both expressed interest in possibly taking over from Snipes as the Marvel Comics vampire hunter. Snipes has played Blade in three previous movies, the third being, well, shite to put it bluntly. There is no denying that Snipes did a great job as Blade. I'm sure many fans would be very happy to see him reprise the role.

He was an amazing Blade, but might just be a little too old these days. I've got a suspicion (based on no solid evidence) that Marvel have the rights back to the character as they do with the Punisher but a fresh start might just be the best thing for the franchise either way.

the man IS blade, but he is around 50...give us blade vs morbius as blade 2 originally was planned and redeem yourself hollywood for giving us blade 3

i did not know Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was interested in Blade i thought it was just Black Panther.

forget a reboot of Blade and let Wesley Snipes carry on with the character. we know Blade 3 was bad but we could say that never happen or have Blade going to somewhere in europe hurting new Vampires.

give us Blade 4 aka Blade 4ever ;D

Snipes is his own worst enemy. He's notoriously difficult to work with and actually beat up the director of Blade Trinity on set!

Well that director did have it coming. Anyways, get a good director to do the fourth film, and get back Snipes. He is Blade, just like Hugh is Wolverine. Do not recast the role.

Snipes hated the plot and script for the last film, and actually tried to walk away from it. The only reason he appeared was because of a threat of a lawsuit.

That's probably the reason the director caught an @ss-whoopin'!!!


As for him reprising the role.....hmmm, idk...

I would love to see Snipes reprise his role as Blade. He did such an awesome job with the character so far. I don't think he's the only actor who can pull it off (kinda how I feel about RDJ as Stark), but he was so good, why risk not break

But I'm curious, is the Blade franchise under Marvel Studios? I mean, New Line Cinema made the trilogy, but with the last film being released in '04, did the rights revert back to Marvel Studios by any chance?

While Snipes might not be the only one to pull off Blade...

...he's definitely the BEST.

Honestly, his interpretation is akin to Jackman's Wolverine or Downey's Iron Man.

He is BLADE, others may try to emulate him *cough*stickyfingaz*endcough* but no one will be better than him.

Wes IS Blade period. Cant see someone else. Well if they do have Morbius at some point can we get a nod to other marvel characters as little easter eggs? Like the punsiher or spidey via newspaper?

HE made the FIRST MARVEL MOVIE, definetely should be given another chance, either with BLADE or maybe as another character (like BLACK PANTHER's father or something like that).

Wesley Snipes is one of the very few actors like Samuel L Jackson, Harrison Ford, and Bruce Willis that deserve to play action heroes no matter how old they get. I have a feeling that as long as Snipes makes a strong effort to change his ways and doesn't have any tax problems or get locked up again that he will be Blade in the new movie especially given that the movie rights have gone back to Marvel.

Marvel has already given Idris Elba a role in the Marvel Universe and is likely to give Agbaje something sooner than a proposed Blade movie would begin.

God that Blade tv show was awful. I think we need to wash the taste of that out of our mouths...Blade 3 isn't anywhere near as bad as that pile of crap!

Wesley Snipes was incredible as Blade but the man is 48, too old now to play such a physical role.

He IS Blade but in my opinion let Marvel Studios get the rights back, they do a new Blade trilogy set in the underbelly of the Marvel Movie Universe and have Wesley as executive producer on it and get someone new to play Blade

Wesley Snipes is Blade and Age is Nothing but a Number...

The man is a 5th Degree Black belt and ranked high in several forms of Martial Arts. His age should not matter whether or not it is a physical role. I'm sure the man has a daily routine and stays in shape.

He uses "Total Gym" for crying out loud!

I wonder how things would be if us fans could for once get what we actually wish for?..

Can you Blame Wesley Snipes for getting in to it with David Goyer after what he did to Blade 3?

David Goyer is and Excellent Screen Writter but a TERRIBLE Main Director.

Even Guillermo Del Toro was raising his eyes at Goyer for some of the ideas he wanted in Blade 2. He said it himself in the commentary interview on the Extras of Blade 2.

The first idea of blade 3 was suppose to be an apocalyptic event that occurs that has the world covered with Vampires, having Blade go into a serious war against them. But he choose this Trinity crap.

i agree wesley snipes is blade like hugh is wolvi and ryan is deadpool etc etc but i'll also agree he is getting old. but before his age really catches up to him they should shoot 3 more movies back 2 back. if not i would happy with one more but it has to be huge. yes i agree morbius has to be in it. that is one villain that has not been introduced on the silver screen and ryan reynolds should come back as well as jessica biel. just no david goyer this time. he should get his ass kicked again just for letting us down.

However, I'd like to give Micheal J. White a chance.

He's Hardcore, has that deep, commanding voice, a Dangerous Martial Artist, and just all around THREATNING looking Black Man!

He's PERFECT for the role.

I loved the first 2 Blade movies.
The 3rd I did not like.
I enjoyed Reynolds and Beil but I felt like Snipes phoned in his performance , it was like they didn't want to be in the same movie together.

If Snipes wants to do another I want to see it .
If they recast , I will still want to see it ( but Snipes is still top of the list ).

That was part of the problem with
stickyfingers Jones the guy couldnt fight
nor could he act. Speaking of sticky fingers
I seen him on a celebrity boxing match about
a year before he got the BLADE role.

He was fighting some guy from some show like
the Brady Bunch or something any way he came
out with the gangsta mad face and got BLASTED
this guy beat the CRAP out of him...next thing
I know he turns up as BLADE!!! Maybe they should've
watched the film\TAPE would've been a clue...he's not
our MAN!!

SNIPES is BLADE...BLADE V.S.MORIBUS would be SWEET!!!

Why is Hugh Jackman the perfect Wolverine? I never could understand that. Wolvie's supposed to be a vicious little shit. Hugh is like the family-friendly version. He's good in the role he's given, but that role isn't Wolverine imo. Idk, maybe i've finally become a whiney fanboy

NubaX hit the response right. Wesley Snipes started the marvel movie stint wether haters like it or not. It came out before X-men, Before Spider-man, before the Matrix. BLADE was an excellent vampire movie and my favorite. Wesley is the shite. But I think Micheal Jai White should have a crack at it this go round. He never gets any good parts and is still quiet in hollywood. He needs this. I like Elba, but he can never scrap like Jai. Goyer and the studio F*ed Snipes on part 3. Sticky Fingaz impersonation looked like an IN LIVING COLOR spoof.

It's hard to ignore Alba and Reynold's characters now. And Whistler is dead. There are no supporting characters. Blade 2 is one of my faves. He had a good run while it lasted, but i say reboot

That maybe true and that did cross my mind but Wesley can always go overseas and make his indepent movies, own them, and receive a larger profit like he's been doing.

There are a lot of movies that can be made that he can do.

I want Blade to be done RIGHT. I DON'T want Davi Goyer directing it. You better hope they don't eventually let Goyer take over The Dark Knight either.


I wouldn't be mad seeing Wesley again but I'd go ahead and role with a Fresher, Younger, more Athletic Micheal J. White.

He hasn't gotten a lot of roles because he's just too threatening and scary for Hollywood. They want a more "non threatning" guy like Sticky Fingers (with his High A$$ voice) in that Piece of Sh!t series directed once again by Goyer. You know...those Sell Out looking brothers.


If you want that same edgy, hardcore, and cool feel that Wesley brought to the character then MICHEAL J. WHITE is who want.

um...He wasn't exactly doing a whole lot of movies after Blade 1 or Blade 2 so him "alledgy" choking Goyer didn't really change that much.

Hollywood isn't excatly going after the Nesley Wesleys in the acting buisness. lol

Not after them seeing Blade.

It makes no sense for a guy like Micheal J. White to not get the call for Major movie roles like Blade or the Black Panther all this time (till about now)

Think about all the movies that have been screwed up because of bad casting.

For example: Superman looks like a SISSY!
You mean Holly wood couldn't find a Stronger, Handsome guy to play Superman? All these pretty boys with these long, thin bodies that are BARELY believeable in the movie.

Snipes deserves another shot at Blade. How the hell can the third film even be called Blade when he was hardly in it? He needs this film to bust back onto the Hollywood scene and get his career back on track. Hopefully he can pay some taxes with the money a Blade movie starring him would make, because all of us fans would go see it no doubt!

black dont crack, keep snipes for blade and let mjw go for black panther. How about snipes as blade in the new Ghost rider, that would be the shit. Also Black Panther deserves to be the next film franchise from marvel. Way more than a boring cliche Iron Fist flick. BP can lead an entire film.
