Marvel Knights getting together for the great good/evil!

Here is my idea…Marvel is clearly going to have massive success with their upcoming mega-crossover, The Avengers. I don’t think anyone will disput this. So, for their properties that don’t have the potential to make Avengers money why not give them a crossover film. As we know Marvel has a banner of film properties that are more adult oriented called Marvel Knights. Currently, they have three properties that fall into this group: Blade, Ghost Rider, and The Punisher. As comics they are all doing ok in sales, but don’t have the draw of a Captain America or IronMan.

The last Blade movie had a budget of $65 million and the upcoming Ghost Rider’s budget is $50 million. Neither of the movies is going to pull in $400+ million on its own. However, both have serious fanatical fanbase who WILL go out and see those films no matter what reviewers say. Why not give these fans what they want? Let Ghost Rider and Blade battle it out and then eventually come together to fight a greater evil in a film together. These kind of hail mary plays would go a long way in the eyes of the fans and casual watchers. The Blade films have a much larger built-in fanbase and would bring in more viewers than a third Ghost Rider film would ever do on its own. To see these comic badasses go at it on screen would definitely get some more asses in the seats. The luxury that Marvel has is that all of these properties are now back under their control.

I'd love to see a Marvel Knights film soon. I can see Ghost Rider reverting back to Sony if/when Spirit Of Vengeance bombs, and they also have characters like Doc Strange to bring to life (while regaining Blade and Punisher). All we need is for GR, Spidey, Daredevil and Elektra to revert, and we'll have a truly epic Marvel Knights film.

@PaulRom, I think you are right. Man, marvel knights with all those characters would be amazing. However, I don't see Sony giving up on Spider-Man anytime soon. One can dream though...

Im not so sure a movie like this would do well. It would be so weird and out there that many people would probably pass this up. i think it would have a feel like LXG

@KidDynamo0 Yeah, I hear that Sony wants to have another trilogy with this reboot. Even if they're on the verge of going out of business, I'll bet the massive amount that TASM will make would save them so they can continue making Spidey films. And I'm sure they'll keep Spidey for a long time (unless Ghost Rider reverts soon...kinda like what happened with Universal; Hulk reverted and every other character such as Namor reverted afterwards). Still, fingers crossed we'll see Spidey in the MCU by 2020
