SPOILERS: Here's Who Died In The Pages Of Today's CIVIL WAR II #1 From Marvel

We've known for months that Marvel's Civil War II would kick off with a couple of high profile casualties, but which Avengers have bitten the dust? Well, if you thought that the HydraCap backlash was bad...

It was strongly hinted at in this year's Free Comic Book Day special from Marvel, but Civil War II #1 from Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez did indeed feature War Machine and She-Hulk (two characters Marvel has tried and failed on multiple occasions to make work in their own titles) biting the dust at the hands of the Mad Titan, Thanos. Asked if Rhodey really is dead and gone, Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort told Newsarama: "I don’t want to be too coy about this. As far as the story is concerned, Rhodey is dead. You’ve given me the opportunity to play the game where I tease that he may still be out there, but that’s not what this moment is about. This moment is legitimately about Rhodey being down. So not outright showing that is, as you said, good taste. I could play games with you, but I’m actually going to give you the flat out honest answer, which is, he’s done. As far as this story is concerned. In the future, anything is possible, but Thanos did take him out."

As for She-Hulk, it at least sounds as if there's a chance we're going to see her pull through in the second issue despite her flatlining at the end of the issue. "This one I think I can play coy on. There’s more to come in Civil War II #2. Totally Awesome Hulk #7 focuses almost entirely on Bruce Banner, and where he’s been, and what he’s doing. That’s a tie-in issue, and that’s not a coincidence. It’s more than likely that we’ll see Bruce before the event is over." What do you guys think of these latest developments? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this in the usual place.
