Kevin J. Anderson goes full-steam ahead and into new territory with CLOCKWORK ANGELS. Anderson (known for his Dune and Star Wars novels as well as his original series Saga of Seven Suns and Dan Shamble, Zombie PI), will be adapting his bestselling novel CLOCKWORK ANGELS to graphic novel form for Boom! Studios.

CLOCKWORK ANGELS is an innovative and unique project—a steampunk fantasy adventure based on the same-titled concept album by Rock legends Rush. Anderson developed the story with Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, an epic adventure of a young dreamer in an exotic steampunk world caught between the repressive order of the Watchmaker and the chaotic destructive influence of the Anarchist. The lush story is full of pirates, lost cities, airships, stempunk carnivals, and of course the mysterious Clockwork Angels. Art by Nick Robles.

@nibs - Did you read the post? Maybe you missed the part where the comics are actually based on the novel that Kevin J. Anderson wrote (you can see it here)? It's a comic series based on a novel, which was based on a an album :o)

The book is sort of a novelization of the album, of course padded out a bit. Haven't gotten a chance to read it yet but the album was good, especially for a band that turns 40 this year. Saw them live when they toured for it (though the album wasn't released yet) and they put on a heck of a show.

@nibs - No worries. I just wasn't sure if you honestly didn't see that, know the history, etc. :)

With the novel being a New York Times Bestseller, I would assume there must be some originality there. I haven't read the novel yet, but I plan on picking it up today.
