Alex Proyas' big budget adaptation of the epic John Milton-penned poem, Paradise Lost, was originally scheduled to begin production earlier this month, with plans for a late 2013 release. However, a month ago Warner Bros. temporarily put the brakes on the project (around the same time they postponed Akira and Arthur & Lancelot) a few weeks before it was set to commence production in Australia, reportedly for budget issues. But now, actor Bradley Cooper - who stars in the film as 'Lucifer' - updates on the project while speaking with The Playlist. He confirmed that the film hasn't been axed and that it'll begin filming this summer...

"We're going to hopefully start in June. Everything's going great. I mean, nothing's done until we're up and shooting."

The rest of the cast consists of Benjamin Walker, Casey Affleck, Djimon Housou, Diego Boneta, Camilla Belle, Sam Reid, Rufus Sewell and Callan McAuliffe. Keep an eye out on CBM for the latest on the film.

It's currently unknown if Paradise Lost will keep its late 2013 release date despite the delay, but if not, expect it to be released in early 2014.
