TRANSFORMERS 4 To Have Less Jokes, More Action

A source close to the production for the recently announced Transformers four-quel says that the film will be more action-packed and contain less silly jokes, and will be a direct sequel to Dark Of The Moon despite Shia LaBeouf's absence.

Paramount Pictures recently announced that a fourth Transformers film will hit theaters June 2014, with Michael Bay returning to direct. Now, Badass Digest claims that a source close to the production of the sequel has revealed some interesting tidbits concerning the film. Despite being called a 're-imagining' when it was first announced, the source says that it will be a direct sequel to Dark Of The Moon but will not be shown through Sam Witwicky's point of view. It's also unknown which of the human characters (if any) will return.

The source also dropped some info that should please those who didn't like Michael Bay's prior Transformers films. It appears that the director is keen on cutting back on the crude humor that has been featured in the previous films, and will make it more action-packed. "Michael realized it needs to be more like the last hour [of Dark of the Moon]," the source told Badass Digest.

Based on the above info, it's possible that Transformers 4 could very well have the story centered on the robots completely (they have been mostly the backdrop in the previous movies, and focused more on Witwicky). Share your thoughts below in the usual place.

Transformers 4 is scheduled to hit theaters June 27th, 2014.

How much more action can you add to these films before it basicly becomes a 2 hour long action scene?

They said that about Transformers: Dark of the Moon. They lied. There was at least 30 mins they could have cut from the movie that would have made it so much better.
Don't get me wrong, I liked it.

I'd rather have more story than more action. They also said the same thing for the last 2 movies.

As long as Michael Bay is still attached to the franchise, the movie will still be a bad one.

Gaston, you took the words right out of my mouth. As long as Bay is directing, I will never trust anything he says.

When I watched the Transformers movies, I wasn't thinking to myself, "This movie would be alot better with more action", I was thinking how could something with a budget this massive have a story so mind-numbingly stupid. Besides, we don't need more action. The action scenes in these movies are so pointlessly drawn out that it gets boring watching them.

Watching these films is like watching somebody play a video game for 2 and 1/2 hours. It's unengaging and boring.

You can have humans in the movie but Optimus Prime has to be the lead character.

Also find a better editor for the film.

Yeah more Transformers, less humans. I'm all for that.

That's not to say we shouldn't have a human cast too but I think the robot war should take center stage and more of the Transformers mythology needs to be explored in a coherent way. Revenge of the Fallen attempted to do this but failed miserably and is clearly the worst of the 3 movies.

"Less humor". As much as I've enjoyed the trilogy, I'm tired of hearing this.

How about more story and character development. Bay can't tell a story if it him in the face. It's still gonna be the same... Intro.... BOOM!BAM!PHEW,PHEW!! OPTIMUS!!! BUMBLEBEE!! THE END!

Maybe they could still try to bring back Sam but as a secondary character or cameo, with him working for NEST as a soldier or something. Much like how Duke won't be in Retaliation that much but will still be included (and not die).

that's what they said about the second...and the third... funny how a good script is not even in the list of things they are going to go for.

action wasn't a problem with the movies it was the shitty humor like when sam's mum was running around the school campus all stoned in revenge of the fallen.

total crap.

If everyone can agree that Dark of the Moon was better then Revenge of the Fallen then you know they are learning how to make these movies better even though ironically the first one was the best. The fourth will get better, probably not perfect, but still better.

But what I really don't understand are the people who hate these movies but still watch them. These aren't the best films but they still have a large amount of good that comes from them.

I bet you everyone here who complains about there being a fourth movie will go see it and then be surprised that they hated it.

I admit the last two movies had there problems, I won't argue that. But it gets to a point where you're just ruining it for yourselves and complaining cause you have nothing better to do. These movies aren't a total waste but if you don't enjoy what they do offer then stop watching them.

And yes I also have the logic to realize "If everyone complains about these movies maybe I'm wrong" But regardless I will still enjoy what good these movies do offer because I like Transformers.

All of you might as well complain that Optimus Prime is a long nose truck instead of a flat nose truck.

How about we just scrap the 4th movie and kill Michael Bay. There hasn't been one positive aspect of the Transformers depicted in any of these movies. They have all been teenage trash yet people won't cut the cord. Joel Schumacher was awful for Batman so we hit the brakes, left it for a while, and started again, successfully. Quite being a bunch of Phaggs and let go of the hope of a good Transformers. The CGI in these movies make Green Lantern look good.
