Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentor ship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Elizabeth Banks, The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23rd.

100% from 9 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Box Office Review called it the "Best American SCI-FI film since THE MATRIX'

WOW

@gusto Get a life, no wait you don't have one but to troll.

BTW why the countdown for those who haven't read the book.

Once the get lifted up into the arena, they can not move off those platforms for 60 seconds, hence the countdown. If you move off of them, you get blown up.

let me guess..... "not seeing much that interests me"
claybo4131 - 3/16/2012, 2:08 PM
Ok @Gusto I want to hear it from you, and more than in just one sentence....How is this like Twilight you tell me?
BruceLeroy - 3/16/2012, 2:16 PM
trash
claybo4131 - 3/16/2012, 2:18 PM
@teabag Read the book, seriously. I hate it when people compare it to other things it is not (Twilight and Battle Royale). You think it sucks yet you never read the book nor understand that it has blockbuster written all over it. So far, nothing but positive reviews for it. You are about to be (again) proven.....

Thatman12 - 3/16/2012, 2:19 PM
I really can't wait! This year is going to be great for the movies...
RoadDogXXIV - 3/16/2012, 2:22 PM
No way can we compare this to Twilight or anything for the retarded tween girls. From what I've seen, it looks too good to be lumped in with the aforementioned movie series. And Jennifer Lawrence?

Why even click on an article about a movie that you have no interest in? That is the only question. Gusto likes to get people all worked up, then talks trash, everyone should know that by now. For the record, books are pretty awesome and could translate well to the big screen.

@marvel72 100% agree! I'm yet to see anything that makes me want to go and see this....the TV spots make it look like a syfy channel movie.
