Speaking with Total Film, Luke Evans discusses his portrayal of 'Bard The Bowman' in the two-part adaptation of The Hobbit (An Unexpected Journey and There And Back Again), Peter Jackson's hotly anticipated return to Middle Earth. Evans reveals that Bard will be slightly more involved than in the novel, while also talking about his first impressions of seeing the set.

On How Large His Role In The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Is:
“There’s slightly more Bard in the movie than is in the novel. Everything in the book is definitely in the film but… [whispers] I’ll have my tongue cut out if I say anything else. Let’s put it this way – I shoot a lot of arrows…”

On Seeing The Set For The First Time:
“I can’t really describe it. When I first arrived I went straight to Bilbo’s house. I saw it on the big screen when I was 21 and there I was, walking around it in costume – a very special moment. I’ll look back on that in 20 years and hopefully be as proud as I am now.”

Evans can currently be seen in The Raven, and has recently been confirmed to play a villain in Fast & Furious 6.

If Johnny Depp isn't cast as Doctor Strange which I seriously seriously am hoping he is then Luke Evans would be a great secondary choice.

@ novaprime: Yes, he should. I would like to see him play Dr Strange or Namor. I think he's perfect for either roll.

The movie will be great, but I am sure it will have a different feel from the LOTR movies.

Dr.Strange is such a cool character, his origin story is epicness too. The Hobbit is a wicked story I can't wait to watch this movie. How about Danielle day lewis as dr.strange? "Good evening lady's and gentlemen I am an oil man......I mean...I am Sorcerer Supreme"lol
