"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever ... Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths ofguile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities ... A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to hit theaters December 14th; The Desolation Of Smaug will arrive December 13th, 2013; There And Back Again is scheduled to be released July 18th, 2014.

Great poster. Would have been a neat touch if the sword was glowing though.
MovieMaster - 9/22/2012, 10:21 AM
What sword is that he's holding?
NerdyGeek - 9/22/2012, 10:22 AM
It's a nice poster, but it looks to similar to the ROTK Aragorn poster. We need a poster like this!

MovieMaster - 9/22/2012, 10:25 AM
I know what sword it is, but can't remember the name. lol
MovieMaster - 9/22/2012, 10:27 AM

Martin Freeman who playing Bilbo is going to be a huge star after this movie, his life will change forever, this guy has only been in tv shows here in the UK for god knows how long and his first major lead in a hollywood movie is in the Hobbit and he deserves it.

Sting and it's an Elven knife.I've got the prop replica upstairs for unwanted goblins.
Ha1frican - 9/22/2012, 10:56 AM
Is Sting the blade that turns blue when orcs are around that Bilbo gives Frodo?

Ha1frican - 9/22/2012, 11:10 AM
@Nomis1800 thanks im a bit of a LoTR noob, im watching them through right now coincidentally
SauronsBANE1 - 9/22/2012, 11:14 AM
geez don't any of you guys remember anything from the LOTR movies/books? yes, for anyone else, Bilbo's "sword" (and ya, its called STING for anyone else who can't remember -__-) would be like a knife. but for a hobbit, its a pretty good sized sword. Shockingly, it was the exact same size in LOTR when Frodo was using it, so i don't foresee it being any problem in the Hobbit...
Ha1frican - 9/22/2012, 11:28 AM
@SauronsBANE1 no actually i dont remember much from the movies because i didnt like them very much when i first saw them and thought they were long and boring. Granted i was about 8 or 9 when Fellowship first came out so now that ive come to appreciate them ive just now started re-watching
Ha1frican - 9/22/2012, 11:30 AM
lol RIGHT after i just unpaused Frodo goes "This is STING" to Gollum XD

There needs to be a movie with Martin Freeman, Michael Fassbender, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Gary Oldman
SauronsBANE1 - 9/22/2012, 12:13 PM
@Ha1frican, wasn't specifically pointing fingers at you, but i can understand that. I give you lots of respect for making the effort of re-watching the trilogy though. If you aren't already, I'd recommend watching the extended editions...takes a lottt longer, but a muchhh much better experience!
HULK2099 - 9/22/2012, 1:09 PM
