First Teaser Poster For TARZAN 3D Debuts

We recently saw the first trailer for Constantin Film's animated motion capture take on Tarzan (which stars Twilight's Kellan Lutz and Resident Evil: Afterlife's Spencer Locke), and now we have the first teaser poster for the film. Check it out after the jump.

By Paul Romano - 10/9/2012
While in a remote part of Africa exploring a mineral cache in a mysterious cave, entrepreneur JOHN GREYSTOKE and his wife ALICE are killed in a tragic helicopter crash, leaving their three-year-old JOHN, JR. to fend for himself. Rescued by KALA, a gentle ape, the traumatized child is brought up by a band of mountain gorillas as one of their own, learning the ways of the wild as he grows into a strong and indepdendent young man known as TARZAN. At 14, Tarzan first encounters another human: JANE PORTER, a pretty and intrepid teen visiting Africa with her naturalist father. His contact with a creature so like himself leaves him unsettled and yearning for more.

The gorilla tribe’s longtime leader dies and is succeeded by a brutal silverback named TUBLAT, who settles an old score by driving Tarzan out of the group. As Tarzan wanders alone, he stumbles on the wreckage of the helicopter, where he unknowingly triggers a signal to his late father’s company. CLAYTON, a ruthlessly ambitious executive at Greystoke Industries, hires Jane and her father with a greedy scheme that will destroy the entire ecosystem. Jane, hoping to derail the plan, reconnects with Tarzan and becomes a target for both Clayton and Tublat. Facing deadly challenges from man and beast, Tarzan must use his jungle intuition and his human intellect to save his home and the woman he loves.

A spectacular animated safari into a vibrant and exotic landscape, TARZAN 3D is a gorgeously rendered, action-packed journey through a magnificently imagined world.

Many thanks to HeyUGuys for the heads up.

Tarzan 3D is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2013. Here's the recently released trailer if you haven't seen it yet:

The poster's pretty cool, but the animation in the trailer looks horrendous. I hope they improve on it before the release.

Hopefully we get a second trailer soon because that first one was lackluster

for such a great character with SO MUCH potential... this is so underwhelming. shiny, but underwhelming. and the trailer was so bad it made me want to punch tarzan in the face!

I expect a lot of elements to be "borrowed" from Disney's Tarzan film.

Mainly 'cause every fairy tale film or parody follows the Disney versions more closely rather than the damn source. That's just lazy.

@ironspider12

I didn't think the animation was all that terrible, but the lighting the gorillas' fur looked pretty bad.

Grievo - 10/9/2012, 3:48 PM
He looks like Angela from Sleepaway Camp part 1.
TheBigBoss917 - 10/9/2012, 3:51 PM
Tarzan lives in Jungle but grows no beard...
AlexDeLarge87 - 10/9/2012, 3:53 PM
Why they have to be teens! O_o
AlexDeLarge87 - 10/9/2012, 3:54 PM
Tarzan is the King of the Jungle not the Prince.

StarSpangledBruce - 10/9/2012, 4:02 PM
@TheBigBoss917 We've already had enough bearded heroes recently.

Christuffer - 10/9/2012, 6:37 PM
He didn't do the "UUUHHHHHAAAAHHUHHHHUUAHAHAHAHA" thing.

And the animation looks pretty dumb. He's not manly enough
mgeoff88 - 10/9/2012, 7:03 PM
The trailer didn't really blow me away like I hoped it would.

@Fartman I agree, he doesn't look like a man raised by apes in a jungle. To be fair though, how manly can a guy be swinging around in a loincloth? :P
admiralhowdy - 10/9/2012, 7:08 PM
Tarzan climbs a tree. This is a real preview? As a real ERB Tarzan fan, just... *Facepalm*
pintoman - 10/9/2012, 8:16 PM
I thought that was pretty awesome. However I have not forgotten about the damn "Tall Man" trailer that ran before it. A trailer is an ad people! You can't run an ad before an ad! Damn.
DioFoRio - 10/9/2012, 9:57 PM
I bet this last trailer wasn't even finished animation...but damn...if what you have looks half-assed ,don't release anything then.
AmazingFantasy - 10/10/2012, 2:16 AM
Grif will love this
sarahsatire - 10/10/2012, 5:37 AM
How's about they get a legit Tarzan going... you know, a movie that's faithful to the book.

Oh wait, this is "3D".. that changes everything!
Supes17 - 10/10/2012, 8:22 AM
I highly doubt they'll be able to beat this...
