Confirmed: Paramount Pictures Developing Sequel To HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS

Despite crossing the solid $200 million mark at the worldwide box office, Paramount Pictures' 3D fantasy horror Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (which currently has a 15% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) ended up underperforming North America. With a $50-83M budget, the Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arteron starrer opened with a lower than expected $18M domestically, and it is currently approaching $55M. With this news, it should come as little surprise that a follow-up is being planned. Via Deadline, Paramount has confirmed that a Hansel & Gretel sequel is in development. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Beau Flynn and Kevin Messick are expected to return as producers. No word on whether or not writer-director Tommy Wirkola will return. Are you happy with this news? Just like the first one I will probably never watch this unless I'm just drunk out of my [frick]ing mind. Seems like the movie you should watch when your drunk. Totally unrelated but you should watch all of Tim Burton movies whilst your high especially Alice in Wonderland shits like a masterpiece.

Well the dude has some impressive stuff lined up he's got the Abscam project with David O. Russell, he's also doing Lowlife with Joaquin and Marion Cotillard. So dude hasn't abandoned good roles and hopefully he gets a meatier part in Avengers 2.

"Incredibles 2"

Incredibles 2 should take place 10 years later from where the first one left off! Mr. and Mrs. Incredible have opened their own superhero marriage counseling center where married heroes like them are having difficulties in their marriage! Jack-Jack is in the 5th grade! Dash is in his senior year of high school! And Violet is married to a (powerless) regular guy! Dash has become a high school superhero that no one knows about! He saves nerds/students from bullies in his school! Violet is having trouble telling her husband that she has powers but when she accidentally uses her powers to save her husband he finds out that she is a super being! (Secretly) her husband actually does have super-powers but he's also a Super Villain in charge of his own super-villain alliance!

looking forward to watching the 1st but dont see reason for a sequel.
bladenite78 - 3/18/2013, 4:23 PM
It made about 4x its budget in money..thats a great turn around..even if you cut off 30% for a sequel, you are talking another 100 mil in profits for a quick turnaround..

I uh... I'm ok with this. Look guys, the first one was pretty damn enjoyable and fun. I just wish for the sequel they get even crazier and don't hold back so much which I felt the first one was kind of doing. But The ending did hint at some pretty awesome ways the sequel could go.
EarOne - 3/18/2013, 5:33 PM
well it's NO avengers...FAR from it. BUT, the flick's quite fun AND it's got JUST the right pacing and duration.
GarthRanzz - 3/18/2013, 7:23 PM
What's this got to do with CBM's?
imadick - 3/18/2013, 10:18 PM
whatever.

and "good box office run" is usually equated with "audience wants sequel". you shouldn't have watched it if you didn't want a sequel. you're all probably the same dipshits who whined about ASM#700 and then bought it anyways.
jimoakley666 - 3/19/2013, 4:54 AM
Firstly, Why?

Secondly, how does THIS shit make that much and DREDD (a film that is probably 5000% better than this) only make breadcrumbs? The general cinematic audience are utter morons.
vaahtlnirn1 - 3/19/2013, 2:27 PM
Most movies don't need sequels. I want The Girl Who Played With Fire already!
