PROMETHEUS Sequel Development Reportedly In Trouble

With Damon Lindelof not writing the Prometheus sequel despite pushing plans for a trilogy, 20th Century Fox and director Ridley Scott are said to be "freaking out" over continuing the story of Elizabeth Shaw.

When Damon Lindelof rewrote Jon Spaiht's original draft for Prometheus, he turned the previously "one-shot" script into the first film of a potential trilogy. However, despite leaving the door wide open for an inevitable follow-up, the Star Trek Into Darkness screenwriter dropped out of penning the sequel, which will also see Ridley Scott return to direct. According to Bloody-Disgusting, both Scott and 20th Century Fox are "freaking out" over continuing the story of Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace), as the one who pushed them to pursue a trilogy isn't involved. They are currently taking pitches from "basically anyone who can crack the story". Despite Rapace recently saying that a script is currently underway, it sounds like development for the sequel is "in a state of jeopardy". However, BD notes that everyone involved with the film will likely deny this story. In the mean time, take this news with a pinch of salt until further notice. Do you want to see a Prometheus sequel?
