When I saw this on the front page, I said to myself, "Yeah, DVD. The only way I'd see this". Then I click on the link and see the cover art. I'll be passing on this all together.

@Comedian: $189M was its total gross (international and domestic). $63M is just domestic.

why the [frick] does the site still post articles on this shitty film, it's not comic related and it came out almost two months ago!?!...unless they're getting paid by WB to do so.

@ManofwooD: Yeah, because the story of Jack and the Beanstalk has nothing to do with comics... Except for the numerous comics based off/inspired by it.

This movie is not based on a comic nor did it inspire any. It's based on the famous English fairytale of Jack The Giant Killer but Bryan Singer mixed it with another English fairytale of Jack and the Beanstalk to create this loony movie and call it Jack the Giant Slayer.

The 1962 movie adaptation was a hell of a lot more fun and didn't confuse the two tales like this version.

@ManofwooD

When you own a website, you can decide what kind of content is on that. Until then, either stop complaining, or stop coming to the site.

Even for some of the movies on here that don't have comics, the title of the site is "ComicBookMovie" but it is more than that. Really, it is a place for "nerdy" movies. The site owner decided to expand the site to not just other movies, but video games, and literal comic books (because, as you may note, it's called ComicBookMovie not "ComicBook"). I'm glad he did that.

If you're still having trouble understanding, it's a little like how the store Staples sells a lot more than just staples.

Also, I fairly enjoyed the movie. I wouldn't mind owning it, but it's not something I want to spend a lot of money on. I may get it once it's a bargain deal.

Even though it wasn't fantastic, it is a shame that the movie didn't do so well because it had a lot of actors that I really like (Ewan McGregor, Ian McShane, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, and I'm starting to like Nicholas Hoult)

Seems to be a common theme now, a lot a good actors all wasted. I wonder if DOFP will buck that trend lol.

He's called Jack the Giant Slayer but instead of slaying the giant, he's running away from it.

HUGE REQUEST for someone that has the ability (because I have no I idea how). Somebody take that second pic of Hoult and the Giant and photoshop it into a DOFP style pic of Beast running from a Sentinel.
