Speaking with Yahoo! Movies, Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx talks briefly about his role as Electro in next summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He praises the costume worn by the villain, saying that he had no input into the design but thought that it was "very creative". "Oh, man ― it's so much fun. The costume is great. They were very creative with it." He also talks about sitting in the makeup chair for a long length of time, and states that he merely "chills" during the process. "It's a couple hours ― a couple hours of work, but it's really so much fun. It's part of a remarkable legacy: Spider-Man. I mean, when you're growing up as a kid, you know, that's everything. So to be able to be in that is just amazing."

Finally, Foxx confirms that he will be appearing at this July's San Diego Comic-Con to promote the anticipated sequel, whose presence at the convention has only been speculated up to this point. "Now I'm just waiting to get to Comic-Con and see how people respond to it. [Director] Marc Webb is a genius and Amy Pascal and everybody at Sony have just be so gracious to allow me to have this opportunity. So it's cool." Director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (among others, most likely) will probably appear at SDCC later this summer as well to promote the currently-shooting sequel, even though an official announcement has yet to be made.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper and Sally Field. The film is set to hit theaters May 2nd, 2014.

Doom's word is law
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 2:54 PM
Oh Cool...

He talk about how much he loves the comics and then complain afterwards about how racist the comics community is 'cause theres so many white people at the cons.

kevberg - 5/23/2013, 2:57 PM
Y'know 'cause hes said a lotta racist Sh@t.

Stay classy Jaime.
superotherside - 5/23/2013, 3:02 PM
Ok. Now tell me how soon Sony is giving the rights back to Marvel.

:P
MrMartinMarvel - 5/23/2013, 3:04 PM
He really doesn't have any right to call someone racist.
DarkArts - 5/23/2013, 3:04 PM
@kevberg Care to fill us in on who said stuff about whites at Cons?
I haven't heard this story.
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:05 PM
Just please tell me the Rhino is NOT a semi.
THIS - 5/23/2013, 3:07 PM
Wait, so does this mean Electro is going to be in X-Men: Days of Future Past?
Win, just win!
Chloefornication - 5/23/2013, 3:08 PM
"Marc Webb is a genius"

Ok, I need some alcohol now.
EdgyOutsider - 5/23/2013, 3:09 PM
Here's what I want at comic-con. Proof of Electro and Rhino being exciting and serving a purpose on the big screen. If they can do that then this movie will be fine.
chrismyers - 5/23/2013, 3:10 PM
As good as some of his performances are I always get this sense of Foxx having a HUGE ego and being really cocky, I believe his break out role was 'Any Given Sunday' and if you see his audition for that (obviously pre-famous) he still comes off as incredibly egotistical and self centred

PabloMansini - 5/23/2013, 3:15 PM
Agree with chrismyers I've always felt that too, but it might be. A good thing for this role
third3ye - 5/23/2013, 3:16 PM
There isn't enough room in Hall H for Foxx's entourage of dbags.
exe - 5/23/2013, 3:19 PM
They better show something that will make me change my mind.
Luis75 - 5/23/2013, 3:21 PM
Marc Webb is a genius he successfully relaunched the Spider man franchise and ASM2 will probably be the next marvel movie to make billion dollars.
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:22 PM
Soory, I had to correct it,

@ Dark metal...I was being sarcastic.

He had a radio program call the Foxxhole and he and his entourage made comments about Miley Cyrus " needing to do some heroin' and catch chlamydia from a bike seat and some o one called her a "white b@tch" on air while they all cackled about it.

Im no Cyrus fan, but she was still considered a child star.

dudes just a creep , IMO.
nowtheresaBATman - 5/23/2013, 3:24 PM
as long as his costume doesn't end up looking like something Bryan Singer made up
chrismyers - 5/23/2013, 3:26 PM
@pablomansini - agreed I think that's probably why he's been so successful. It worries me though when someone so clearly in love with themselves can 'act' so humble in his performances.
MrMartinMarvel - 5/23/2013, 3:31 PM
TASM 2? 1 billion dollars? LMFAO!!!
airbeyonder18 - 5/23/2013, 3:31 PM
I'm excited to see what he looks like. Looking forward to seeing the sequel.
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:38 PM
@levi-- she was 15 or 16 when he said that. thats all im saying. He also was joking about she should do a sex tape and some dumb B@tch in his crew was saying she she do her dad.

But thats just one in a line of stuff Jaime Foxx has said. the guys a racist and I wont be spending my cash on thing this douche does.
nowtheresaBATman - 5/23/2013, 3:39 PM
yeah that's right Miley Cyrus just won Maxims hot 100. & Gweneth Paltrow just won People's sexiest woman alive.

what the hell is happening? It must be The End.
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:39 PM

Its a shame because Giamatti is a Damn good actor and while I can't see him as Rhino, I still am curious how he pulls it off.
chrismyers - 5/23/2013, 3:44 PM
Kevberg- agreed!
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:47 PM
BTW, my typing blows----I have tourettes and drink heavily.
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:49 PM
@Mcgee

No, i don't boycott anything...But I personally won't see it. It like Mel Gibson.. was one of my favorite actors, but i can't support him in anything now...just lost all respect.
kevberg - 5/23/2013, 3:56 PM
@chrisymyers

thanks.

@McGee...I guess the difference is im not saying " you guys, don't see the movie" , Im just speaking for myself.

and a gorillafart is a NASTY drink....Nasty.
theowl - 5/23/2013, 4:02 PM
it will make a lot of money.. maybe it will reach 1 million.
batman1216 - 5/23/2013, 4:18 PM
It is quite possible this movie will make a billion. It is Spider-man and the last movie made 750 million or something like that. This is a sequel that already has the unnecessary retelling of the origin out of the way and seems to have a lot more positivity surrounding its production then the last one.
wyllembates - 5/23/2013, 4:20 PM
im all for divesity but This so stupid black human torch black

electro shit gimmie an asian wolverine next and a Spanish

batman trust me it is not a race thng but but stick to accuracy
Snakeofdoom - 5/23/2013, 4:28 PM
"They were very creative with it" yeah because a [frick]ing hoodie with some glowsticks is goddamn genius. The only difference between ASM and ASM2 is this one is going to take another steaming shit on two classic villains instead of one. There's a reason we have not seen either one in a costume,...because there aren't any! Rhino is cliched russian gangster in a track suit, and Electro is a popsicle in a glowing hoodie. They can't even tell the difference between electricity and ice!!
wyllembates - 5/23/2013, 4:38 PM
@Luis75

Nah Kid im talking like Mexican Spanish not from European all

sombrero all the time fly high on tequila about 4ft 2 inch tall
Jollem - 5/23/2013, 5:01 PM
can't wait for this twoquel
Darman456 - 5/23/2013, 5:14 PM
I really can't wait for those people saying it'll suck to eat their words. Because I know this movie will rock. With no more origin retelling to...well...retell. The costume is awesome and it has secured the hottest spot for any movie to release at any time. The first Friday of May is huge. I doubt it'll make less than the original movie and MAYBE break the one billion mark. However, the amount of money made doesn't reflect on the movies in terms of quality. Since, y'know, TDKR made more than a billion dollars.
rbfn04 - 5/23/2013, 5:18 PM
Dude mad cause of a SNL skit...
theowl - 5/23/2013, 5:29 PM
@Snakeofdoom - are you [frick]ing stupid?.. that is the stupidest thing I have ever read.
MrReese - 5/23/2013, 5:36 PM
Looking forward to seeing Electro.Foxx got the chops.
MarkV - 5/23/2013, 5:52 PM
I confirm griff's comment
Berserker187 - 5/23/2013, 5:55 PM
I really dont think fox will pull this of. Most if not all of his movies are horrible. think jarhead. horrible movie. dont see this happening but of course it will make money due to little kids wanting to see spiderman. bloody hell.
TheBlackNerd - 5/23/2013, 5:59 PM
People think he's complaining but he's spitting the truth! Do your Thing Mr.Foxx! He can say whatever the [frick] he wants to. Probably getting tired of all the crying and ish over a black Human Torch, black Electro and black Nick Fury!
