RUMOR: Hugh Jackman Offered $100M To Reprise WOLVERINE Role For Four More Movies?

Beyond portraying Logan in The Wolverine and 2014's X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Jackman's future as the clawed mutant is uncertain. Now, a rumor claims that he has been offered a whopping $100M to continue playing the character, but he might turn down the four-picture deal.

Few actors have consistently played a certain comic book character as Hugh Jackman has. The Oscar nominated actor has played Wolverine in every single X-Men installment (counting his cameo in 2011's First Class). He recently reprised the role for The Wolverine, and is currently shooting Days Of Future Past (which hits theaters May 23rd, 2014), marking his seventh time donning the iconic claws. Beyond that, however, his future as Logan has been unclear. He hinted at potentially retiring in the near future, but also said that he was still greatly enjoying playing the character. Now, a report from National Enquirer claims that Jackman has been offered a colossal $100M deal to reprise the Wolverine role for four more movies. However, there's a good possibility that he will turn it down, as he is unsure about signing long-term deals. A "close pal" insider tells the site, "Hugh has a big decision to make. It’s not every day an actor gets offered this kind of paycheck, but Hugh vowed never to lock himself into any multipicture deals after ‘X-Men.’ He hasn’t given any kind of answer yet, so at least he’s considering it." As this news hasn't been officially confirmed in any way, take it with a pinch of salt for the time being. Do you want to see Hugh Jackman return as Wolverine yet again?

ThisIsHeavy - 8/12/2013, 7:47 AM
As much as I love Jackman as Logan, I feel like it's time to get some fresh blood...into the claws...or whatever.
Jazza815 - 8/12/2013, 7:47 AM
If true, of course he'll do it.
HavocPrime - 8/12/2013, 7:49 AM
Jezuz 100 million for one actor, wonder if everyone else in the x-men franchise will demand a pay rise if Jackman agrees to this.
JatevinM - 8/12/2013, 7:50 AM
I say do it. Honestly until Jackman can't play Wolverine anymore I don't want to see anyone else play him and even then it's going to be weird. Comic book fans can nitpick and say what they want about Jackman but the man loves the role and is dedicated to improving himself and the role with each time he plays him.
TheSuperguy - 8/12/2013, 7:53 AM
I Say do it. The Wolverine was a fantastic film and a great way to start a Wolverine solo film series, it would be silly not to continue.
MrReese - 8/12/2013, 7:54 AM
25 mil a pic.Not bad Mr.Jackman not bad at all.

Your source is the "National Enquirer"? You should never be allowed to write anything again.
Talontd - 8/12/2013, 7:59 AM
LOL, so i'm assuming you guys missed the "National Enquirer" bit as the source???

SMH...not even worth discussing...
TheWolverine08 - 8/12/2013, 7:59 AM
@Indeedrevalation No. Lol, "gay"?
JatevinM - 8/12/2013, 8:00 AM
Jackman is happily married but if he was gay how would that stop him from playing a badass?
TheWolverine08 - 8/12/2013, 8:00 AM
@Indeedrevalation "Gay"? Lol, you're a clown.
Talontd - 8/12/2013, 8:00 AM
@shaunmagg

Great minds...
TheRationalNerd - 8/12/2013, 8:00 AM
@BlackJack10

I think that they're going to continue with the first class characters. It makes more sense to me. There's still villains who've played a major impact on certain characters such as Mr.Sinister (Scott and Jean), Shadow King (Storm) and many more!
TheWolverine08 - 8/12/2013, 8:01 AM
@deadpoolwithcomicscans How did I forget that one?
WeaponX93 - 8/12/2013, 8:02 AM
Do it Hugh! There will never be another actor like him! So it said 4 movies? I'm going to say it's probably another X-Men, X-Force, and Wolverine, then a sequel to one of those.
Spideyshawn - 8/12/2013, 8:02 AM
Yes do it hugh has done a great job not to many have this much dedication to a comic book character/ franchise the wolverine proved with the right team they can knock it out the park. Hope he does it as long as the stories are worth telling.
LeroyJenkins - 8/12/2013, 8:02 AM
Saw a rumor on moviepilot that Bale is being offered 50 mil to reprise himself as the dark knight. Anyone heard anything about that? Probably bullshit
richal13 - 8/12/2013, 8:03 AM
Wow. The National Enquirer is the source. I remember when that tabloid was known for false rumors and now they're being reports as reputable. Ha.
ItsATrap - 8/12/2013, 8:04 AM
It's The National Enquirer. Hardly worth believing. I'd sooner trust El Mayimbe
Deadpoolwithcomicsans - 8/12/2013, 8:05 AM
Ah, Tabloids. The source of all bullshit
TheWolverine08 - 8/12/2013, 8:05 AM

Damn, that's exactly what I was going to comment on. Not exactly the most reliable news source.
SWelch - 8/12/2013, 8:07 AM
Since when do we consider the Nationa Enquiror a viable sourse?

KNIGHT3000 - 8/12/2013, 8:09 AM
DO IT!!!!!!!! GET A PRODUCER SEAT TOO, LIKE DIESEL IN FAST FURIOUS FRANCHISE!!!!!!!
IM53 - 8/12/2013, 8:09 AM
That's 25 million a film.. He will do it as long as he can do other passion roles in film and stage. Hugh is a great actor,well respected and admired.
IM53 - 8/12/2013, 8:10 AM
Lmao cipher
SoundWave - 8/12/2013, 8:10 AM
Yeah! 4 more "X-men" films with Jackman!
He MUST be a member of "X-force", there MUST be "Wolverine 3" as Mid-Equel I hope, something from Logan's past (and Sabertooth again!!!). And new "X-men" films after "DotFP". 25 mln for the movie, 100 for 4 movies, he MUST agree! More WOLVERINE!!!

And finaly black mask and yellow spandex, please, please, please!!! More comic-book style in FOX superhero movies!
TheWolverine08 - 8/12/2013, 8:12 AM
So, the b%tching and moaning about too much Wolverine has begun.
ruadh - 8/12/2013, 8:14 AM
@TheWolverine08

Enough with the pre-moaning already.

@fettastic

That's not the Enquirer...
ParisSun - 8/12/2013, 8:14 AM
It depends on how Hugh views the character. If he looks at it like a James Bond role then he might just do it. Being paid 25 million a movie would put him in the top earning actors in Hollywood. And he can still do other movies between Wolverine movies.

This is why MCU will never see the Xmen or Spider-man or Fantastic Four or any other supers outside of the brand. Movies like Wolverine don't need to make billions to turn a profit. With internatinal money, it's getting harder and harder to make a film bust. Of course Will Smith found a way but his career is on a down turn.
TheWolverine08 - 8/12/2013, 8:16 AM
@ruadh It's not pre moaning.
fettastic - 8/12/2013, 8:16 AM
Wait....so now we're reporting [frick]ing NATIONAL ENQUIRER articles as fact?
Grimfoe - 8/12/2013, 8:21 AM
If they give him $100 million, how will they ever afford the adamantium required to make the future movies not suck? I mean without the adamantium, I'm nervous someone will break his claws every time he uses them.
