Grant Gustin Talks His Suit In THE FLASH; Confirms It Has Been Tweaked

Grant Gustin recently commented on his suit in The Flash, talking about what it was like to wear and also confirming that it has been modified since the pilot. In addition to this, he and Rick Cosnett both indicate that there's a possible love triangle in the works! Hit the jump to find out more!

Fan response to Grant Gustin’s suit in the upcoming Flash show has been mixed – some people love it, some people hate it. The suit is a slight reimagining, changing some classic elements but staying faithful to the source material. In a recent interview, Gustin dished on his thoughts of the suit, confirming it has been tweaked, and dropping some other hints as to what will happen in the show!

“You don’t want to hear an actor complain about being a superhero, but yeah, it’s not the most comfortable thing I’ve ever worn. But it’s maybe the coolest thing I’ve ever worn, which kind of makes up for it. And we’ve since made some slight modifications to make it more comfortable,” Grant said of his costume. So, no confirmation that these are visual modifications, but don’t be surprised if the suit continues to evolve – it took over a season for Arrow’s Oliver Queen to get a mask, after all.

Meanwhile, Rick Cosnett spoke about his character, Eddie Thawne, saying: “He’s a star detective and he’s new. He just got transferred from Keystone City to Central City. Everyone loves him in the precinct because he swoops in and does a really good job. He’s a very able man. He’s really nice. He is very good at his job. He doesn’t have any weird addictions or anything…  And I think much to the dismay of Barry because they are friends, and there may or may not be a girl who gets in the way. There’s a lot of tension.” What’s that – a girl? Could this be a love triangle forming? Well, Grant went on to confirm that “Barry’s in love with Iris, so that will be another fun dynamic.” Yep - love triangle.

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become… The Flash. The series stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Jesse L Martin as Detective Joe West, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells and John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen.

The pilot will floor everbody, it's the perfect start to an awesome series, especially the end!
NetmanTripleSec - 6/6/2014, 7:37 AM
Give him the right logo, lightning trim, and ear pieces and we're good.

Get rid of belt and belt buckle.
NetmanTripleSec - 6/6/2014, 7:38 AM
Replace with lightning trim like the comics.
Rulk - 6/6/2014, 7:41 AM
I think he should be more red...

QuestiontheAnswer - 6/6/2014, 7:48 AM
Agent Carter will be better-well less mediocre-than this.
SuperCat - 6/6/2014, 7:51 AM
Less leather maybe? Suit looks cool but who runs in leather? Makes you musty.
DarthCMPunk - 6/6/2014, 7:51 AM
I swear to god if Reverse Flash hates Barry becuz of a girl almost exactly like Deathstroke hates Oliver no thank u. Either way this is still my most anticipated show ever so I guess I'll get over it lol

"Barry’s in love with Iris"

Felicity's not gonna like this. :)
Pasto - 6/6/2014, 7:54 AM
Remember that fan-art we saw a while back and we were told that was his official suit? I hope they go that route. That was an awesome suit 2.
LAsBruceWayne - 6/6/2014, 8:01 AM

His suit makes me...

Pasto - 6/6/2014, 8:06 AM
I would honestly be fine with a suit similar to this.

Leather.

0megaDaGod - 6/6/2014, 8:24 AM
I like the suit but it could be better, and much redder

But looking at what they've done with the effects I would understand if he were running around in a red tank top and some old retro Chicago Bulls shorts

This show looks epic
McGee - 6/6/2014, 8:31 AM
Jungle Fever is no joke though....

Some serious joo joo.

Love triangle oh shit not this again.Smallville anyone?

@LAsBruceWayne

LMAO!

That sucked for Lebron last night.
Snooper - 6/6/2014, 8:41 AM
Guys. The Reverse Flash they showed in the show has the exact same costume as the comic version. That means Barry's costume is obviously going to change a lot closer to the comics.
DrunkenNukem - 6/6/2014, 8:43 AM
@McGee..lmao reminded me of this..

@OmegaDaGod

Yea I felt bad for the dude.

LeBron now has physical evidence that he is just carrying too much weight again. This time he's 30 not 25. Now the comments how he should of played are dumb cuz he simply couldn't. But it was a weird situation all around.

Now if the series ends up going completely the way of the Spurs.. The internet/social ROAR of him needing more help/leaving to get more help is necessary. But that will turn into hate for him into some sort of " You are one shot away of being 1-4 in the Finals derp "....

Things will get really interesting if they get run off the floor... It's too much for LeBron. I know him and Wade are bro-bro's .. He's as healthy as he's getting and LeBron still needs to go 'SupermanVsTheWorldEngine' mode for them to compete. If he ends up breaking down this series (more cramps/MENTAL STRESS/fatigue) I think it will play huge in the offseason with some serious thinking for him to do.... I had the Spurs in 5

Or it's all BS i'm thinking too hard and they will be fine, But I LOVE the drama.

Now troll time...

BlazinTexan - 6/6/2014, 9:22 AM
IF lebron had not taken steroids maybe he could have stayed in the game. Out of 30 players he was he only one with "cramps". gtfo I'm a SPURS fan and I wanna beat the heat with lebron on the [frick]ing court.
0megaDaGod - 6/6/2014, 9:26 AM
@LAsBruceWayne

LOL, that was brilliant. Lebron is without question, damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Wearing number 23 when he came into the league was basically an internet death sentence. I think at this point it's really down to them needing a younger bench, and Chalmers needs to be reigned in, but it's also just game 1, with a freak air conditioner accident, so the sample size is small

But what you're hitting on is very true. He's carrying too much of a load. People crapped on him during the regular season for 'coasting', but when you think about where he was trying to go (The Finals) and what he was gonna have to be to get there (A Monster) and then take into account what he STILL had to deal with (Wade's injuries, multiple roster inconcistencies), it's probably clear that he should've coasted more. The dude is a beast, but he's human. And this series is probably gonna prove just how human he is, unless of course this is just one game and next game all is well. San Antonio is a monster team as well, so it's important that they not lose credit if they win, but it's also gonna be interesting to see how this whole fatigue thing plays out. 4 trips to the finals, and an olympics in between is no joke
BlazinTexan - 6/6/2014, 9:27 AM
He came onto the NBA built like Kobe now he looks like the hulk. He's balding and cramps up often. Those are signs of steroid abuse. Mark Maquire Sammy Sosa and countless others pros have and will use in every sport . So why not lebron? Sad part is I like Lebron.
Jollem - 6/6/2014, 9:28 AM
yay. sports bullshit
BlazinTexan - 6/6/2014, 9:28 AM
Hope this show is Badass!
LAsBruceWayne - 6/6/2014, 9:29 AM
@BlazinTexan

LOL, while he is a freak of nature but the fact he was 6'9" 240 coming out of high school shows he's just an anomoly. Spurs win easy... Heat walked through the east.. BOBCATS/NETS/PACERS.. 6 or 7 teams in the west could get to the finals in that bracket. But anyways dude's not on steroids.. Stop the hate.

I wasn't a LeBron fan and tip toe'd on the hate side early in his career. Cause I could see through those flashy stats and see he was mentally WEAK! But since he managed to give us THE BIGGEST CHOKE JOB IN NBA HISTORY(DAL finals). He grew up, toughened up, And is having seasons that are just amazing. I respect the Legend in his peak.
LAsBruceWayne - 6/6/2014, 9:31 AM
@BlazinTexan

NO WAY HE CAME IN LIKE KOBE! Kobe was 17 years old skinny as all hell still raw and came off the bench for two years. LeBron is just a freak of nature. He was a man at 17 drafted at 18 and put up something like 27 6 & 8 his first game. Now i'm a Kobe > LeBron guy..... But to say he came in built like kobe is ignorant
LAsBruceWayne - 6/6/2014, 9:38 AM
@OmegaDaGod

I've seen the same thing up close and personal for about 15 years with my Lakers. Its just too taxing on a body to win 3 and get to 4 straight. The Kobe & Shaq teams won 3 and went to 4 finals in 5 years. They might have done it but their "Beef" stopped it. Then came Kobe's second run w/ Gasol. Went to 3 straight won 2 then flamed out. Now that's credit to Lebron for getting to four(even though I see that as weak east and beast west). But with the spurs machine coming at them. D.Wade being an all-star not superstar. & the raptor is just a 20 foot jump shooter. Their time ti flame out is here. & with these "super teams" .. The flameout's are always the best.

Cuz if there is one thing I know as a FACT! LeBron knows he can't keep carrying his team like this. Or his "not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, ..." is a pipe dream.

HUGE off-season in his legacy

Good to see real Basketball fans on this site!!

I really do wonder why the background in the Flash symbol is red. It is one of the more iconic symbols, and leaving it white would not make it look any less functional than a red one.
xNightwingx - 6/6/2014, 3:02 PM
@DarthMcPunk, I think it is More likely that Thawne already doesn't like Barry and is doing it to Screw him over.
bythepowercosmic - 6/6/2014, 3:09 PM
If it's on The CW, everything is leather.
sameoldthing - 6/6/2014, 4:09 PM
Wait...they tweaked his costume for the comfort level?
How about they tweak the color & make it fvcking red instead of burgandy.
Seriously folks,that color is WRONG.
