Yesterday we got our first few reactions to the special sneak peek of Guardians Of The Galaxy which was shown at Disneyland yesterday. Well today it appears we have our first full description of the footage

Below is part of the in depth description of the 9 minute preview, courtesy of Jeremy Conrad

"It opens with a shot of the planet Morag, an “abandoned world”. Star-Lord’s ship lands here, and it’s a nasty and alien place. Heavy rain, wind, and geysers erupting from the ground greet him as he begins to explore it while wearing his mask. He pulls out a device that scans the area and shows him a blue-wireframe hologram of what the place looked like in its heyday. It finds the building he’s looking for in the ruins and displays that as a red-wireframe with a red path lighting the way.

Star-Lord enters the ruins and taps a button under his hear that makes his mask dissolve into that small button. He puts on his headphones, clips his Walkman to his belt, hits play, and we hear the opening of Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love”. Now the best part of the footage begins. As the first vocals come in, there’s a wide shot of Star-Lord with his arms in the air, mid-dance, and the “Guardians of the Galaxy” title appears as if summoned by him. He begins to dance to the music through the ruins. Sliding on puddles. Kicking little alien rats, and picking them up to use as a microphone to lip-sync to the music. He eventually reaches the vault we’ve all seen in the trailers where the orb is held.

After opening the door with some kind of futuristic lock pick, he lights the room with a sphere that he leaves on the ground. He then tosses a magnetic device on the floor that pulls the orb out of the field holding it, and that’s when Korath and his two thugs find him. Star-Lord calls one of the minions a “Ninja Turtle” before giving Korath his real name, Peter Quill. When that doesn’t work he says “there’s another name you may know me by”, which is when we get the “Star-Lord/Who?” bit. Deciding to escape he kicks his light sphere at the two guys pointing guns at him, which vaporizes them. He shoots Korath, knocking him to the ground, and when he gets up is when he fires at Star-Lord and he does his Neo thing to dodge the blast and use his rocket boots to escape."

There's some people comparing it to Star wars and Indiana jones.
That has to be a good sign for the movie
HurricaneXavier - 7/5/2014, 12:30 PM
Can't. Wait.
rockerdude22 - 7/5/2014, 12:31 PM
What?! Dancing around and lip synching to music?! And jokes?! But that's not super serious or dark! Fun is not allowed in these movies! Every single CBM should be some heavy drama about the meaning of life and existence! AAAHHHHH!!!!

Lol jk in all seriousness, I love this description! Sounds like this movie is gonna be a blast to watch!!

themidnightking - 7/5/2014, 12:57 PM
What?! All CBMs need to be dark and depressing! How dare they?!
Snooper - 7/5/2014, 1:00 PM
The movie is alright. It isnt a Cap II or DOFP by any means.
EzioKenway1225 - 7/5/2014, 1:01 PM

3DWitchHunt - 7/5/2014, 1:04 PM
My anticipation for this died down in the last few months, but with the lower expectations, I'm sure I'll enjoy it more than I wouldve before.

EzioKenway1225 - 7/5/2014, 1:38 PM
Mcnyagano-oh ok, i wasnt really expecting that because its a different film then those or any superhero film we have seen in a while..i just hope its good on its own..also mcnyagano, can u post your youtube channel on here ,i would like to subscribe
themidnightking - 7/5/2014, 1:40 PM
@McNy @Dooper
What if they reedit some scenes in the finished product like Webb did with TASM 2?
ManaByte - 7/5/2014, 1:40 PM
@DoubleD I can assure you it's new. The footage only debuted yesterday at the park and I wrote up the description EARLY this morning after I got back from a open-to-close day there.
themidnightking - 7/5/2014, 1:41 PM
@McNy
How was the pacing? Was there any filler scenes?
McNyagano - 7/5/2014, 1:42 PM
@ezio

It's like comparing apples and oranges though lol If you liked the Avengers, then you're gonna like GOTG. That's the best way I can put it because you could draw more comparisons with that film. Here it is:

Thanks man:)
themidnightking - 7/5/2014, 1:43 PM
I can't wait for the 17 minute IMAX preview! It's gonna be awesome!
Phronesis - 7/5/2014, 1:43 PM
Ehhhh, not really impressed. Not at all excited.
GeekyCheekyChic - 7/5/2014, 1:43 PM
If there is no rain and darkness and somber tones then how can this be a good comic book movie ?
;)
EzioKenway1225 - 7/5/2014, 1:44 PM
Mcnyagano-yeah,i think the best comparison would be Avengers and also cant wait for future videos, what are u thinking of reviewing first?
EzioKenway1225 - 7/5/2014, 1:45 PM
Phronesis-oh well. ok i guess.it wont gel with everyone hence me expecting it to get mixed reviews
Humperdink - 7/5/2014, 1:47 PM
@McNyagano

I've read your thoughts on the movie before, so I really want to ask you something.

Would you PAY to see it again?

I've seen Cap-2 four times, I'm wondering if I'd feel the same about GotG but from what I've been seeing I kind of feel like it's going to be fairly 'basic' sci-fi. Nothing exceptional.

Maybe it will just be a 'serviceable' outing like I've felt the Thor movies have been. Not 'bad' but not 'WTF amazing'.
McNyagano - 7/5/2014, 1:48 PM
@ezio

As soon as I get a new mic, I'm reviewing whatever new film is coming out that week and I'll do in depth reviews for Cap 2, DOFP, TASM2 and hopefully GOTG.

@themidnightking

Great pacing. There's no filler scenes. I actually wanted to see more of the film.
BlindJustice - 7/5/2014, 1:51 PM
@Humperdink - HAHAHA!!! Thanks! I really needed that!
EzioKenway1225 - 7/5/2014, 1:51 PM
Mcnyagano-awesome, just subscribed!!, cant wait for the videos, i will say this, when i come out of the theater,i am hopefully going to be happy and i am definitely going to be sad, i am hopefully going to be happy if Guardians is a good film and is successful but i am going to be definitely sad because then we are going to have to wait NINE months for the next superhero film in Age of Ultron
