Wakanda Bound? Chadwick Boseman Mentions 'Contracts' While Again Playing Coy About BLACK PANTHER Casting
The actor, who has been rumored to be in talks with Marvel Studios to play the titular character in a Black Panther film may have just given the first concrete evidence that talks with the studio have not only occurred, they've gotten serious.
Chadwick Boseman was first rumored to be in talks for the role of the Black Panther as far back as March, 2013. Since then, when questioned about the role he's reffered to as "...not out of the question", a "rumor", and even stated it is something he's unwilling to discuss. Most answers have been given through a huge grin or a full on nervous laugh
While talking to radio personality Charlemaigne Tha God during promotions for his new James Brown biopic 'Get On Up', Boseman came as close to confirming talks with Marvel Studios as he ever has in the past.
'Charlamagne asked him if there was truth to the rumor that he would be cast as the T'Challa in Marvel's rumored "Black Panther" movie. Through a wide grin, changing his position, he replied, "Ahhh, I don't know anything about that... Until the contract is signed, I don't know."'
So while he does not come right out and say it, he gives a fairly clear indication that at the very least conversations are definitely being had. Whether or not those conversations have progressed to the point of a contract being drawn up remains to be seen, but at the very least we can be sure that progress is being made on the film.
What do you guys think of Chadwick Boseman as The Black Panther?
