Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster "The Dark Knight." The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to hit cinemas July 20th, 2012, and will feature an all-star cast that includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman Marion Cottilard, Anne Hathaway, Josh Pence, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman & Jospeh Gordon Levitt.

That courtroom/grand central-station-looking room makes me wonder if that old rumor about Scarecrow or someone else judging the citizens was legit ...... Looks as though Bane has taken over the lower under levels of Gotham, including the railroad tracks! Ra's did die on a train......

The Dark Knight Rises most likely won't make more than the Avengers due to the fact that it may not be the happy cheery let's go see it again film the Avengers is plus with Spider-Man coming out only a few weeks before that, naw. This movie may rock but financially, I don't see it topping Avengers.

Nolan is absolutely awesome!! he always used stories from comics for his films

Begins = year one, blind justice, the demon stories

TDK = killing joke, long halloween

TDKR = DKR, knightfall, no man's land

I want this movie to be great but it fails to entertain as much when the superhero has no superpowers. Maybe Nolan will scrap the mythology and have Bruce Wayne get bit by an atomic vampire bat or something.

I think it's more of how Nolan completely disregards the fantastical comic book elements from the Batman mythos. The only thing he burrows from the comics is influences from certain storylines, that's it.
