'Superman: Requiem' is probably the fan-film that is/has gotten the most publicity in the history of fan-films. The creators dedication to this film seems unmatched, and their desire to make an amazing Superman film seems out-standing. There hasn't been a whole lot of marketing for this movie yet besides a couple posters and glimpses of the suit.

Here's the plot synopsis for 'Superman: Requiem':

"Superman is the world's greatest super hero, and law enforcement across the globe has come to rely on him to deal with some of the major tasks that face society. When the Man of Steel loses some of his powers after an evil villain attacks him with Kryptonite though, he must overcome his obstacles and prove he really is a super man."

And here's your look at two more movie posters for the film.

'Superman: Requiem' was written and directed by Gene Fallaize and is slated to be released sometime this year.

wow! yeah that intro copy is a bit........well, was it written by the guys doing marketing for the film, right?

I've heard of this before, yes. But it hasn't nearly created online buzz like say, that Batman fan-film where he fought an Alien? It's wishful thinking to put this in that league.

still, any Superman fan is a friend of mine, so I am looking forward to seeing more! why not indicate when a teaser / trailer is coming?

Wow sad...this fan film is making more progress than the actual reboot. C'mon Snyder!!!

And ANOTHER film where he loses his powers? So he probably won't fight again- LAME.

We already had a film where he lost his powers hence- Superman II ?? And I dont' like what i read before about this fan-film that it is connected to the Donner-universe of Superman films. I've been saying it before- no more Donner, please.

And why are people always so obsessed with having Superman lose his powers? Isn't it better to let him actually USE his powers for a change? I mean just for ONCE to let him fight??? Maybe it is asking too much to finally give Superman a powerful opponent and a worthy fight. Might as well bring us back to the romantic/high-moral-value films of the Donner-age. Modern-day, more hard-edged Superman? Never gonna happen at this rate ;P granted it would be nice to see for once though. By hard-edged I don't mean "dark" like Batman. But i mean- a Superman that doesn't just let himself get slapped around all the time. I'm talkin about a Superman that WILL fight and WILL kick some serious tail if he is forced to. Superman is pure but he is no puss. He is a warrior for peace and justice and he will fight in order to preserve that peace. THAT is the Superman I most truly admire and grew up watching on television as a kid. =D

Just throwing it out there, LP4... I doubt the director has enough dough to give us a good fight. Fan films are not cheap to make as it is. Besides, losing his powers (although a bit overused) is a great way to flesh out his character. I give the guy props for going to such lengths to write and direct a fan film.

Bad Grammar in that synopsis. He should have had his English teacher proof read it for him.

@tim3186- Yeah I see your point but also gotta remember- Superman has had his character fleshed out many times over already. His character was first fleshed out in 4 Reeve films, then fleshed out further to concentrate more on Clark Kent in the Dean Cain series for i think- 4 seasons. Then we had 10 years of Clark Kent 'finding himself' in Smallville. Superman Returns...that was a film all about his feelings and how he dealt with losing Lois and about him finding out he's a father. I think that is enough "fleshing out" or in the latter's (Superman Returns) case- BUTCHERING.

Superman doesn't need to be "fleshed out" anymore. He doesn't need anymore movies entirely and solely about his feelings. I care about Superman and I want others to care about him too but we don't entire films all about his feelings and depression. We need a film where Superman will FINALLY act like a REAL HERO for once in a movie. I have yet to see a live-action version of Superman that actually was a hard-driven, real hero. Reeve was more about the romance, Cain was more about finding Clark, Welling was more about finding Superman in a world absent of him and Routh was just...an emo Superman.

None of these actors were able to truly capture the Superman of the animated series or the comics. That is just my personal opinion...

Umm..never heard of this until now. Anything with Supes I'm checking out. Long as as Singer's gay a%# has nothing to do with it.

Since when has a fan film ever been highly anticipated? I'm also with LP4 Superman losing his powers has no appeal to me. Give us a Superman using his powers and being a hero!

Anticipated Fan film? Nothing still tops what Sandy Collora's Batman: Dead End did:

Sandy even made a World's Finest Fan Trailer:

@LP4- Fleshed out doesn't always mean finding himself. It mean delving deeper into his character to find out why he does what he does. Finding the inner determination to stop the threat even though he lost is powers definitely shows the quality of a true hero better than someone using his superior strength to beat an inferior enemy. I agree it has been overused (especially in Smallville), but it can still be an effective means of showing us true heroism.

@tim3186- Dude your definition for "delving deeper" that sounds just like "finding himself" to me.

You said it means- "delving deeper into his character to find out why he does what he does. Finding the inner determination to stop the threat even though he lost is powers"

THAT IS FINDING HIMSELF. I'm sorry but it is.

Enough with that crap. Give us THE REAL SUPERMAN FOR ONCE DAMMIT.

@Ranger14- Thanks man!! ;D
