True, and it has a lot to do with just how long and massive Star Wars has been in the game. Before the MCU and DCCU were merely dreams, Star Wars was doing it's thing. Now it has several successful animated shows that span years, several trilogies that have made billions (including original ticket sales and dvd/vhs sales), not to mention several successful video games.

Other studios wish they were this successful.

@NightsKing i cant argue with you because I have this sliiiiiiiiiight fear, that JJ will be the reason. He's a solid director but they could've gotten better...a Duncan Jones or Alfosno Cuaron. My worst fear is that it may be mediocre, but I have faith because Disney cant fail. Its literally not an option. It can't afford to be anything less than great.

Are those the only choices? For that matter, are you suggesting that this will dethrone Avatar? Star Wars isn't that unstoppable of a juggernaut, really. Don't get me wrong... I love the original films, but the last three movies dampened some Star Wars love, and there were only so many people interested in sci-if anyways. Yes, this has the original cast in it, but then so did Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

There is no way that this won't be successful, but it will still need to be good to hit the very top of the charts, and I don't think that the stars are aligned for an Avatar-type run. In some ways, this is the Batman Begins of the franchise, having to convince people that Star Wars can be great again.

This movie is gonna break all box office records. Going to the the only one that can reach Avatar and Titanic figures at the end of its run.

Civil War will be big, BvS will be bigger and Star Wars will be off the charts.
