Amy Adams On The Man Of Steel Vancouver Set

Amy Adams was captured on set yesterday filming scenes alongside Henry Cavill for Man of Steel.

Yesterday, we saw images of a bearded Henry Cavill filming scenes for Man of Steel in Vancouver, which is doubling for a small Alaskan village. Well, today we have reports and images that reveal that Amy Adams is also on location filming scenes alongside Henry.






Personally, I think a strong acting performance trumps any sort of visual departure from how a character is traditionally depicted in the comics. In the case of Lois Lane, she's had numerous hair-styles in the comic books but traditionally she's had dark hair. With Adams sporting a decidedly, "ginger" look I was wondering if you guys, (the fans) are irked by the decision not to go with her traditional look? Man of Steel is an upcoming American superhero film under the development of Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Superman, the film will be a reboot of the Superman film series. Using Chicago as a backdrop, and with production to be based in west suburban Plano, the film entered principal photography in August 2011, for a planned theatrical release on June 14, 2013 by Warner Bros., which also includes IMAX venues.

"Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent, Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as 'Superman', not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves."

I like amy adams and i think she is very attractive, but as a Lois, I just don't see it. Maybe she will change my mind when the movie comes out, but I doubt it.

I am looking forwad to this movie like no other. But this new lois and hair ginger hair are bothering me. She looks minging and at least 40 !!

Lets see here, Superman is played by a Brit with a different costume, Perry White is black, Lois Lane will have more of a red hair (though in some comics, Lois does have red hair; than again it was a dark red); Zack Snyder is definately changing shit up with the Superman mythos. If so, then I better see a serious noncomedic Lex Luthur since in alot of portrayals he was seen as being the blantent "Greastest Criminal Mind of our Time".

why is everyone making such a big deal about her god damn hair color. and for the record, she's not ginger. i see no freckles.

do you people not realize that in the most popular comic of all time, death of superman, lois had red hair. it wasnt as light as Amy's yes, but it was red. not black, not dark brown, red.

people are making a bigger deal about her hair than a fat black man being cast as Perry White. Really? Amy Adam's is a good cast. Fishburne is a terrible one.

I still think Rachel McAdams would have been the best choice for Lois; she looks more like the comic version (especially when she has dark hair), she's closer to Cavill's age, she's so beautiful, she's funny (I think Lois does need some humour), based on her performance in Morning Glory she has experience playing someone linked to the news, and her performance in Irene Adler showed she'd play the mischievous, intelligent, and sexy side of Lois perfectly.

Nothing against Amy Adams, she's a great actress from what I've seen and I doubt she'll be bad in the role. But in the back of my head I'm sure I'll be thinking "Rachel McAdams would have owned this".

@THEGODDAMNSUPERGUY I'm sure the movie will be great. I'm 90% certain I'll love it when I see it, but certain casting choices have really irked me. Amy's a great actress, as I've said, but in my mind I don't see her making a great Lois.
And Lawrence Fishburn as Perry White seems wrong too. Nothing to do with his skin colour or anything, but I've had dream castings involving Fishburne as Martian Manhunter's voice since I first heard of the character and the first time I watched the Matrix.

As for the Perry White character, I really liked the idea of Nicholas Cage in the role, playing some over the top version of the character and as a nice nod to the fact that he'd have been Superman in Tim Burton's Superman film. He even looks the part when he has grey hair (and depending on the artist drawing Perry at the time).

I'm also finding it hard to accept Costner as Johnathan, Diane Lane as Martha (too young!), and (for some reason which even I don't know) Russell Crowe as Jor-El.

The only casting in this movie I actually like is Superman and Zod. But I'm sure the film will be good enough to make me forget all my casting worries.

@Clark99 I hear that! I really dislike Smallville after the sucky ending (ruined the entire series for me) but I still maintain that Erica Durance's Lois is perfect. She was literally amazing in that role, she played Lois like the comic character had come to life.

Rachel McAdams would own. She's also MUCH hotter than Amy Adams. I have a hard time looking at Amy's face for long periods of time; she's just not that attractive to me.

I'm still a little unsure about Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Doesn't really look the part, but could probably act it. She's semi-attractive, but not like on a Lois level.

Who judge the product by that. Granted some times what you see is what you get..
But just cos she is red haired doesn't mean she is not gonna be a serious Lois
Or that she is gonna be terrible at the role.. How about we at least see a trailer first?
That said , anyone who has read some of the original superman material knows that
Lois was a red head at some point. Even in live action.. So if your worry is about them
Going with the comics then you really have nothing to worry about cos her red hair though
Not a most popular look is also from the comics..

This is one of the few things about this movie (that we have seen so far from set photos) that I am not a big fan off, aesthetically.

Obviously final judgement remains for the final viewing of the actual movie and I hope that Adams blows it out of the water with her performance.

I was hoping Rose Byrne would be Lois for her acting ability and looks. Heres hoping Amy Adams performance gets that image out of my mind.

@Superguy see, this is where your theory that I just want to hate on this movie fail.

I like Adams as Lois. Like I pointed out before, and you do now, LL had a redish type hair before.

Also, AMy is beautiful without looking like a supermodel. Clark doesn't love Lois cause of her looks. She looks stunning in the comics cause, well it's comics, everyone looks stunning. Heck, even Waller is a hottie now.

Not to mentionshe is a really good actress.

Intruder - Saying that Snyder = automatic FAIL is the same as the people who say Nolan = automatic WIN which you seem against. Either way it is putting the cart before the horse

Snyder has been mixed with success and failure and he COULD knock this one out of the park as well as drop the ball again...

In the Smallville version, Lois Lane (Erica Durance) didnt have the classic dark brown hair either that we Superman fans have come to expect from Lois.

Still, Lois Lane just doesnt look quite right as a redhead. Will hold judgement till after movie, if she is great then hair color shouldnt really matter. Its just a minor detail.
