Some people can understand Bane and some people can't. As many of you are aware, this resulted in some mildly annoying internet debate about whether Bane's voice would be tweaked in post-production [it will not]. Apparently, Tom Hardy shares our annoyance with the mask but for him, it was because he was the one that actually had to wear it. However, based on a few words from the actor, the mask didn't bother him too much. In fact, Hardy stated that eventually he got used to wearing the super-tight mask while filming The Dark Knight Rises.

Speaking at the premiere of, This Means War, Tom said: "Bane's mask is tight, actually. I got used to it, but you get used to anything really, in time."

Tom described Bane as "brutal" and "heavy-handed", but went on to say that he didn't remain in character for the duration of filming for TDKR and was able to separate himself from the role.

"I didn't get into a dark place at all. A lot of dark characters are easy to have distance from, it's something I feel comfortable with, I suppose."

StrangerX - 1/31/2012, 9:23 AM
I wasn't expecting him to speak through the mask crytal clear, and for the tone of the movie it fits.

TheGreenRanger - 1/31/2012, 9:41 AM
Bane is such a big baby. Try doing dialogue while wearing a helmet with a plastic mouth cover.
Mrcool210 - 1/31/2012, 9:45 AM
geez then maybe they should have had a different mask

Talented thespian? really?
MarkJulian - 1/31/2012, 10:23 AM
Whether you like Batman or not, Hardy is one of the best young actors in Hollywood right now.
HelaGood - 1/31/2012, 10:37 AM
wonder if he wore a ball gag under the mask...
90caliber - 1/31/2012, 10:38 AM
I just noticed that the kicker for the opposing team is actually the Mayor of Pittsburgh Luke Ravenstahl. Not just his name on the jersey but that's him under the helmet. He uses that position to do everything but things an actual Mayor should do!!! What a clown!!!
90caliber - 1/31/2012, 10:40 AM
Nolan should go on to direct a new Daredevil movie!

Go Marveltards go!

"Marvel is for eternity." Because Spider-man hasn't been rebooted? What about Hulk? You think RDJ and all the actors will keep playing the same roles all their life? Marvel is going to have to re-cast and reboot eventually or branch out to lower tier characters.

It must really hurt Marveltards that Batman will be the best superhero trilogy and the best superhero movies for a while. That's why they have to gang up on Dark Knight articles saying the same thing over and over. You guys take comic book companies too seriously. DC isn't hurting by your comments. What you're really doing is being douchebags to other fans just because they like characters you don't like.
HelaGood - 1/31/2012, 10:52 AM
@redleaf and by responding to those comments by bashing the Marvel fans, you are no better.

ps - isnt your avatar a MARVEL character? ;)
Nubase - 1/31/2012, 10:52 AM
@doubleD

Nolan maybe gone from directing another CBM movie after TDKR but his batman trilogy will always be talked about for years to come and when ever a CBM comes out it will be judged against.

How many Marvel movies will people talk about? l've seen them all and the only 2 l rate is iron man 1 and first class, the rest is crap! Forgettable movies l'm glad l never paid for at the movie theatres, borrowed them all from friends.

Next year summer 2013 Man of Steel is out with Nolan producing and co-writer and Marvels Thor original release was also summer 2013 but they moved it to November 2013..l wonder why?

l have no doubt that TDKR will be an amazing movie fOR cbm fans and non cbm fans around the world.

@redleaf- I'm not a religious man, but Amen, brother.

Batman will rule 2012!!!
Action - 1/31/2012, 10:57 AM
who cares! Redleaf's avatar can be a crack pipe. Let the man express himself.!
HelaGood - 1/31/2012, 10:58 AM
Action fair enough... but that goes both ways... Nolanites should be ok with Marvelites expressing themselves as well.
Phlegmbot - 1/31/2012, 11:19 AM
"Bane's mask is tight," huh? No kidding. It's like he's not even saying actual words:
marvel72 - 1/31/2012, 11:19 AM
nolanites are the worse type of fans, some are decent & worth my time but the hardcore type they can't see pass the nolan trilogy.

its like there has only been three cbm's ever made & nothing else matters.
OverlyManlyMan - 1/31/2012, 11:23 AM
@Redleaf

You mad bro?
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 1/31/2012, 11:26 AM
@ TheGreenRanger - "Try doing dialogue while wearing a helmet with a plastic mouth cover."

Are you on about Power Rangers? Because none of the Rangers did dialogue in costume. It was, has and always will be dubbed over their stupid flailing limbs. Sorry to shatter the illusion.
HelaGood - 1/31/2012, 11:37 AM
@prettynuclear ...and after TDKR, what exactly is DC's future?
sevenyearslumber - 1/31/2012, 11:38 AM
oh my god, you douchebags have really stooped so low to hop on a TDKR article and start spewing your shit about how much better marvel is? jesus christ grow up you little pricks.. DC has made shit movies as has Marvel, TDKR will do phenomenal in the BO as will Avengers now shut the [frick] up. especially you RamonSuarez. yes you. shut the [frick] up.
HelaGood - 1/31/2012, 11:45 AM

@Intruder-Sorry, Nolan is not going anywhere. He will be producing superman:man of steel. Also, DC is offering Nolan to be involved with the rest of upcoming DC films. And don't worry, Warner bros. has the money to pay Nolan. LOTS OF MONEY!!!

here is the vid of nolan confirming he will be involved with superman.

DarkKnight17 - 1/31/2012, 1:13 PM
Tom Hardy will do great as Bane
BmanHall - 1/31/2012, 1:16 PM
@ HelaGood: After TDKR? That's easy. There's... Uh... Well they could always... Hmm... More... Bat... Man? =\
xXkryptoniteXx - 1/31/2012, 1:28 PM
Lmao

All hardcore crazy marvel fans are bashing this movie and it's only right since Nolan created the best comic book movie, that gave best performance, great assemble cast, great composer, great story, great over all cinematography. Also it was considered for an Oscar and was being hailed as a Oscar contender till the politics is Hollywood got in the way of Nolan. It's like Martin scorssee all over again, it's just Nolan is the victim.

Marvel fans can shut up for there bias and unopened mind. Yes your marvel made more hits on there movies, iron man, captain America, first class, x1&x2, spiderman 1 & 2, and incredible hulk. But why hating on the dark knight rises???? DC only made 2 great comic book movies, batman begins and the dark knight, and maybe 3 this summer. So why these hatred on one movie??? The way I see it is this summer, it well take marvel's captain America, iron man, Thor and the hulk combine into one movie, to attract audience just to beat Batman. Lol.

Why hate??? DC is doing bad while marvel is doing great on there live action movies, but I well say there running out of steam on there A list characters. @MARVEL72 I wish I can meet you in real life so I can actually talk to you and be amuse with your takes on marvel. I believe I'm a reasonable DC fan who actually do enjoy MARVEL as well.
headlopper - 1/31/2012, 1:33 PM
He's right. I eventually got used to my huge balls with time.
thewonderer - 1/31/2012, 1:36 PM
I honestly don't get how Nolanite is even an insult. It sounds badass. Like Marveltard or turd is clearly an insult, but Nolanite? That sounds freaking cool.

Either way seems people have come to enjoy Banes mask. I love it and it makes sense. Hardy would lose all facial acting if he had to wear a complete mask over his face. This is a lot better for the aspiring actor.
