Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor Say They'd Love To Make HULK vs SUPERMAN Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor Say They'd Love To Make HULK vs SUPERMAN

Action movie savants Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor say they'd like to make a movie that pits the strongest of [arguably] Marvel Comics against the strongest of DC Comics.

IFC: There’s been more than a few people who have suggested that you guys should do more comic book movies. If you could have your pick of any characters in the comic book world, who would you want to make a film about?

TAYLOR: We would love to answer the age-old question of who’s stronger, Hulk or Superman.

Think about it. The directors who made Crank, tackling a movie about Hulk taking on Superman? Pretty sure we're not looking at a punch-less Ang Lee or Bryan Singer film, to say the least. Of course, the chances of Hulk and Superman ever appearing on the same movie screen are slim to none, but then again, 5 years ago [Iron Man came out in 2008] who would've thought we'd ever get an Avengers movie? Speaking of which, I think we'll have to settle for Hulk vs Thor on May 4th for now [hopefully, Whedon won't diss the fanboys!].

Of course, the vast majority of the article was devoted to Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance so click the link to IFC to read the transcript, it's an interesting read about the script.

That would be freaking awesome. It most likely won't happen, but it would still be epic seeing Hulk take on Superman (and having Neveldine/Taylor direct would be perfection).

The thing is, there's more chance of Gusto getting accepted into the local Youth Health and Fitness club than a Hulk VS Superman movie happening

As with any characters with a long amount of continuity, it would all be up to the writer, which versions he wanted to use, and what plot tricks he wanted to pull.

Personally, I think stupid 70's Hulk should be able to get stronger than Superman, easily, but seeing as he's not to bright, Supes could probably find a way to beat him.

Hands down, no question about it, Superman wins.

Plus, it would be the shortest movie in hIstory.

These guys may be idiots, but they're not afraid to shot the craziest action they can come up with, and that earns them some points in my book.

@ GeneralZod1138 - Very true, 15 secs max for Supes. Throw Hulk in sun and it's over :p

It would be quite a battle that's for sure, with Hulk's unlimited strength then Superman's powers... it's hard to say...

I hope all the DC fans realize that if Superman could beat the Hulk that easily, it makes him a WORSE character, not a better one.

The Hulk has no weaknesses. you punch him in the face and he just gets more mad, and the more mad he gets.. you know the rest...

doomsday beat supes by just punching him for 22 pages. Hulk is more than capable.

battle could go either way

Maybe not as unlikely as some of you might think. There have been a number of cross over comics. I wouldn't be shocked if DC and Marvel came together again a made a movie this time!

This will neeeeeeevvvveerr happen. And there are only about a million story lines within each characters continuity that deserves film treatment before a crossover hits the screen.

They don't needa movie for that fight. It be over within a 30 sec commercial. Supes wins hands down.....

this battle really depends on which version of these characters your talkin bout
MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 2/14/2012, 3:06 PM
@thewolfx - Of course it does. A character that is that powerful CAN'T be that interesting. Where's the challenge? Where's the risk? How can he be an underdog? I would think Superman's fans would be familiar with this argument.
Luigi

Let them do it. Even if the movie is bad, it would still be awesome.
Supes17
Supes17 - 2/14/2012, 3:07 PM
Supes has strength AND smarts.
Solar powered-nearly unlimited stamina
Strength to move planets
Strength to lift Kryptonite mountains:P
Speed rivals the Flash.
And he can fly
TheMadman
TheMadman - 2/14/2012, 3:07 PM
Only reason Hulk loses is because he's not as fast and can't fly. If superman was Hulk's speed it'd be a pretty even match.
angus666
angus666 - 2/14/2012, 3:09 PM
Superman is invincible. He can't be killed.

I'd rather see separate movies for both characters.
Supes17

@Kes:
Superman killed Doomsday before succumbing to his own wounds.
And then he came back to life
NewNameWhoDis
NewNameWhoDis - 2/14/2012, 3:14 PM
That movie would suck. A) I'm ready to spend some money at the theater to give the new GR movie a shot, but c'mon. These guys did Crank and Crank 2. Those movies were pretty gay, to be frank. They would totally ruin this. And B) wouldn't you rather the studio's spend the budget on, say, the Batman/Superman movie that never was? Or Hulk vs Wolverine? Or something that ACTUALLY makes sense within the separated comic universes instead of some fanboy wet dream that would probably just end with them making nice and taking down Lex Luther/General Ross or some lame ass nonsense like that? Do this in an updated cross over Marvel vs DC series, and leave the movies to actual plots and stories. Not testosterone fueled BS.

Batlizard11 - Hulk can take Thor...so what do you think would happen to him against Superman? There would be a funeral in Asgard.
headlopper
headlopper - 2/14/2012, 3:17 PM
Hulk's smart ENOUGH (thanks to Banner within) to shove Kryptonite up his a** and rip Clark into pieces.
SageMode
SageMode - 2/14/2012, 3:18 PM
This wouldve been a much better headline banner pic

Any, this would more then likely never happen. But for the battle itself, it depends on which version of the Hulk you're talkin about.
