Yeah, going back to the original universe would be an awful idea. The New 52 has been great from what I've read.

if they go back to the original continuity, I'd be much more interested and make pick up a subscription or 2. the whole reboot turned me off completely.

I swear, if they revert back, I'm dropping all five DC books I'm currently reading. I haven't been enjoying the DC Universe this much in years.

¡¡¡Go Phantom Stranger!!!

Bluestreak - 2/29/2012, 3:05 PM
Well since the first of Justice League is taking place 5 years in the past doesn't that mean that the Phantom Stranger fails?

I would be upset if they revert but I think they will ride this pony a little longer.

@Bluestreak
No, the scene with Phantom Stranger was an epilogue set in the present day.

@Bluestreak This was a back-up, meaning it doesn't take place in the same time period as Justice League's first arc.

I'm hoping that this means a merging of the old universe and the new, keeping whatever worked in the relaunch, while also fixing the continuity errors left by it.

I hope they revert back!

But please no more SUPERMAN speedos on da outside!
lol

TEA@, it would be a slap but I feel it's a slap in
the right direction!

Of, course I don't read much DC...MARVEL'S my gig!

You're right about the short term/long term, TEA@.....
It's a big FAIL!

Are people really acting that damn childish over the red shorts? Really? No complaints about the countless Marvel superheroes who still wear them but everyone wants to whine bout Supermans. Why can't people just respect the classics.

DC better not try that crap. I'll go back to reading only Marvel.

This is just a story beat. They are not gonna go back to old DCU. The new 52 is THE MAIN DCU. And I think it will be around for quite a while.

I loved this part. It literally made the comic for me. Except for the amazing Starro cover.

it would be very dumb to switch back. it would be death of superman all over again times 10.

If Hal goes back to being a Green Lantern and Supes still keeps his 52 suit, then I'm okay with this.

IF THEY GO BACK IM GOING TO BE PISSED..I LOVE RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS, TEEN TITANS, AQUAMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE AND SO ON IT HAS BEEN A AWESOME JUMPING POINT AND HELPED ME GET BACK IN DC...REVERTING WOULD BE HELLA CONFUSING AND WOULD MOST LIKELY WORK AGAINST DC

I'm a giant dc fan I read the old continuity and got tired of it I'm glad we have the new 52 plus its been a great way of drawing in new readers, and the story's have been great and they have more liberty to do what they'd like with the characters now. if dc reverts back it will be a kick to the balls for new readers and old fans alike. if they do this they have lost a reader with me and Im sure several other people

Intrigued but if it reverts I shall be dropping all DC titles. It was would be DC's greatest trick...to make me knowingly empty my wallet for no good reason...

If DC reverts all this, I'll probably stop reading comics all together again.

Nothing like the Death of Superman....NOBODY really thought that death was gonna stick stick back then. It was simply a matter of time before Supes would come back.

This new 52 though, this IS supposed to be a new bold reboot, to change back would show no spine.

I would love nothing more than for DC to revert back to it's previous continuity. I'm just completely alienated and cold by the new DCU. There was alotta storylines that made a major impact in the comic industry i.e. Death In The Family, Death Of Superman, Kingdome Come, etc. Not to mention classic characters getting cool updating. Even if they do revert back, in which I hope, they can still have Superman in his new costume and have Barbara Gordon as Batgirl. I don't see why they can't have the ideas they bringing into the new DCU into the previous DCU. I'm certain alotta older readers didn't feel like starting from scratch and reading different versions of origins of all the classic characters with unnecessary tweaks. Zeus being Wonder Woman's father? Come on! Maybe this is a precursor to Wally West being MIA and could be a sign of the old DCU trying for a comeback. Of course, I don't wanna get my hopes high and just gotta take it with a grain of salt. Do the right thing DC.

I would rather they incorporate aspects of the New 52 but reset the Universe back to the way it was. It essentially is that now, because the huge story events like the Crisis stories still exist, as does blackest night and brightest day. I was reading about 20-25 of the New 52 books, but that is down to around 8 now, and my Marvel reading has greatly increased because I hate what they have done to characters in the new 52. Red Hood and the Outlaws is good, but Starfire is ruined for me right now, Lobdell took a great character and a really good history with Grayson and shit all over it. I hate what is going on in Superboy and Supergirl, Cyborg replacing Martian Manhunter in the JLA is terrible, Red Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are now terrible. The only books worth reading now are: Justice League of America, Batman, Aquaman, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Green Lantern, Red Hood and the Outlaws and New Guardians. The worst part is the continued mishandling of Superman, they had a great storyline going with Braniac->New Krypton-> War of the Supermen and then it turned to crap again. Bring back the Old universe, kill off some characters (Barry Allen) bring back the ones that people like (Donna Troy, Wally West) and redo some of the characters like Superman, without tearing away all the great history of the character.

Changing things again would be completly stupid. Revert back from a modern universe to an old universe (i mean underwears on the pants and all you know) would be crazy and dangerous for their sales.
