This was a great FCBD issue! I'm really loving what they're doing. The Trinity of Sin is pretty cool! I also want to know who everyone else is on that Council at the Rock of Eternity.

Very interesting. I'd still prefer the classic Question, though, but I also need to see more of this. Also, seems like John Stewart will also appear as the Green Lantern...with a pretty nice costume.

Speaking of Shazam.. I wish, when they were picking the 52, they had picked major figures like him as one of the books. I collect them all, but I am almost done (getting bored) with about 5-8 of the 52 already..

love the issue, but I think that some religious people might be upset by the reveal of phantom stranger being Judas. the character might loose a lot of fans.well at least he doesnt have his own series, so no big deal. + it was interesting to see that the main earth is aware of the existence of earth 2.

@mrHJK I recommend Animal Man and Swamp Thing; they both highlight an eerie mystical aspect of the DCU and they'll be crossing over soon, two of the best books at DC other than Batman. Also, Aquaman.

Not to split hairs but I would disagree with the word definitive to describe Phantom Stranger. While I agree that all signs are pointing to Judas Iscariot, unless DC announce either in narrative or in a press release etc that he is Judas then the character is not actually defined as Judas. You said as much yourself when you said that "DC is all but shouting".
Just scratching an itch here.

Actually with the Phantom Stranger being Judas, it will make an interesting storyline to see what it will take to redeem himself. Need to get this FCBD issue.

I prefer Alan Moore's Phantom Stranger origin - that he was an angel who refused to take sides in Lucifer's war on heaven and was punished for his indecision. Of course, that wasn't DC canon, but neither is any of this DCnU stuff as far as I'm concerned...

I get an Alexander the Great type of vibe from the Question. Someone known for arrogance and power. Seems like Cain really should be one of them, but he and Abel are already characters in Gaiman's Sandman.

THAT IS NOT JOHN STEWART! Why would the Guardians go to all the trouble of destroying the various corps, including the Green Lanterns, just to make John Stewart their new Lantern? That is "the first green lantern".

I didn't even notice before, that does not seem to be Black Adam in Black Adam's costume. It looks more like Captain Shazaam or whatever we are going to be calling Billy Batsan's character.

I loved the Question. This just sounds like it could be interesting or turn him into a mythical farce. Why couldn't Plasticman enter the New52 with this much fanfare?

@mrHJK - Animal Man is great. Deathstroke was great but now Liefeld is on it, so it may not last 1-9 were good.
Aquaman, of course Justice League, Batwing is pretty good, Green Lantern is great, GL Corps is good, Red Hood has great artwork, and Suicide Squad is decent

Helena- The only good thing Geoff's writing at the moment is Aquaman... which i can't figure out why. How do you completely rock the house with the shittiest character in comic history yet completely suck balls with books that should pretty much write themselves like Justice League or Green Lantern. I dunno...

In my opinion, the only New52 books worth reading are:

Red Hood and the Outlaws
Aquaman
Batman
Superboy
(Batwing, Voodoo & Catwoman are worth it art-wise)

Swamp Thing & Animal Man are the two most overrated books i've ever seen. "The Red", "The Green" and "The Rot"... pfffft, please.
